Where we come from

"That's our parent's fault." I sighed and slid my ahnd over my face. "If that's the real reason they left... it's their fault. NOt hers. Not ours. It's their fault they were terrible parents. It's their fault they tried to fix that. It's their fault they left." I said that, but inside I knew it was somehow all my fault. Somehow I'd made them leave. Even if I couldn't explain how... I didn't want to blame anyone but myself.

"Just so you know the people who beat you weren't our parents, our parents swore that they would never beat any of their children." I jumped off the roof, as I fell I grabbed a bar and sung myself onto the fire escape of another building.

I looked after her. People made promises they didn't keep far too often... I unslung my bow and pushed a few buttons, drawi9ng a grappling arrow. And of course she wouldn't remember it... When they beat me, they did it where no one would see. They took me into alleys. Down in cellars. On top of deserted buildings. WHere no one would look. Where no one would go. Now, it's true, my mother and father vowed to never harm one of their own children. But, they convinced themselves I wasn't theirs. That the rules didn't apply to me. I took the shot, swinging away towards the local police station. My mother had done less. She had more encouraged my father. My father was brutal. I landed on a roof top and tugged the arrow out of the building, pulling it to me. I knocked it again. No, it wasn't my parents who beat me. It was the deepest, darkest parts of them. The parts they suppressed every second of every day. The parts of us we all have... but some of us can't control them. Whenever my parents needed to explode, they took me away to a secluded place. They beat me, and beat me and beat me until I stood up for myself. I leapt to the next rooftop, taking a shot and swinging. It was my faulot I was weak. It was my fault I coudn't be a better child. It was my fualt they had a target to explode on. It was also my faulot they didn't beat my sisters, so there was at least one good thing that came from it. I landed on the police station roof. It was my fault I started standing up for myself, and it was my fault they ran away so they didn't have to let my sisters see the bad things. It was my fault. I went up so a wall, sat down, and took a rest.

It hadn't been oup parents because our parents had died when we were little those people had adopted us when we were four I still remembered even though the other two had forgotten, I wiped my eyes quickly I wasn't crying I wasn't!

I clsed my eyes. I breahted slowly. I opened my eyes again. I heard a sound. Below the station... People? Really? Of all the places in the enormous city, they had to choose this police station? What about the million other stations? I silently looked over the edge. Was that Jamie? Did she have a group? Or... No... She had the knives... Sam? I stuck a grappling arrow in the side of the building and slid down in front of the group. "Sam?"
Raph: I drew my sword the moment the boy appeared on top of the building. "Samantha? Another person you know?"

Sam: I looked up and ran over to hug Skylar still hiding my face.

Skyar: I pulled Sam into a big hug. "Sammie, I missed you. Where did you go? Why'd you leave me behind?"

"I-I'm sorry for leaving you."

"It's okay... Did Jamie find you? Is that why she was all tied up?" I looked up at the group. One boy, with a sword, nodded and smiled.
Raph: I nodded to the boy. He seemed friendly, and his pupils were relaxed... and his eyes were... what was the word for it? He was kind... he wouldn't hurt us.

"Yeah, Jamie found me." I stepped back accidentally letting everyone see how red my eyes were from crying.

"Hey," I pulled her back, knowing she hated for people to see her cry. "It's okay. I'm here... Jamie can't mess with you."

"She messed with Rayden. H-He thought that I wanted to kill him because of her."

"Yeah..." I glanced at Ray. "It'll turn out okay." I whispered to her. "Ray's a bit different... he'll get over it eventually."

I nodded a little, "I know, but it still hurts."

"It always does. That's how you know you're still alive -- when it hurts. But wounds heal. Always. He'll come around..." I pulled back and looked into her eyes. "He loves you more than he beleives what Jamie told him."

"They were going to run away together Sky, he obviously be lives her more."

I sighed. "No... she tricked him. He thinks he loves her. He thinks she loves him. The thing is, there's a lie in their relationship. There is no lie in your love. That's why he'll come back to you."
((Raph is... not dying anymore... he has a plan, though...))

"Where did everyone else from the group go?"

"Well, Aaron and Chelcie stayed together... I think Rye may have gone with them... Kyle, Ben and Shelise all split apart and went solo..."

"What about Laura?"

"Laura?" I had forgotten about Laura... "She's with me... back at our base camp... We set up another one. Found a nice house. Set up defenses."
