Re: Nothing Left to Say
When she came back, she handed me a glass of water. "Here you go." She said, pulling up a chair. I went to take a drink, but something smelled off, so I took a closer look at the so called water and saw that it had little bubbles in it. I looked up at her and asked, "Ē to... What is this? This isn't water, is it?" She looked into my eyes and said in a serious tone, "Very good job. Not many people would be able to tell the difference, yet you did without even taking a sip. Tell me, how did you know?" I felt a little awkward, but decided it would be best to tell her the truth, especially if she could skillfully and silently kill me like she might have been trying to just now. I swallowed my saliva in an attempt to wet my dry throat. "It smelled... Off... Not like water..." I told her, to which she smiled. "I see. I'll have to train you and that nose of yours so that you can stay alive long enough for someone more qualified than me to find you and be able to make a cure for this disaster. I may know somewhat what went wrong, but I don't know how to find the cure, although you could be the key to making things better. What's your name?" she asked, with what could only be described as excitement in her voice. "Ex... Exzander." I stuttered, more confused than before.

"There should be a fever. Is it possible he's immune?"

She smiled and gave me a cup of real water, then helped me get up. She took me to another room and sat me down. "This is what we're going to do, Exzander. Over the next few months, I'll be teaching you advanced science and engineering, as well as helping you train your nose to be able to pick up scents normally only animals could smell. I'll also teach you how to cook a good meal out of whatever food you can find. Are you ready?" she asked. I nodded, then said, "I don't know your name, ma'am. If I'm going to be spending the next few months with you, I'll need something to call you." She smiled and said, "Just call me sensei, okay?" I nodded. "Good. Now let's get started."

Re: Nothing Left to Say
I woke up with a splitting headache. I put my hand on my forehead and slowly opened my eyes. I heard voices, but at first I couldn't make any sense out of them until I realized they were speaking in English. "It would help so much." came a girls voice. I recognized that voice, but why? It wasn't sensei's voice, was it? No, it was younger than that. "N-Natalie?" I asked in a strained voice as my eyes got used to the light. "What's going on? What would help?" I asked.

I heard Exzander wake up and immediately turned to him, "Yeah, it's Natalie, you're inside. We noticed you didn't have a fever and I thought maybe you were immune which would help with the cure."

"I... Immune?" I asked. "Wazuka sūbun... Watashi wa nanika o chekku shite mimashou..." I said, reverting to Japanese. Japanese is technically my first language, but I learned English at the same time, so I don't really have an accent with either one.

Re: Nothing Left to Say
((Hai! Arigatou!))
I grimaced as I took of my gloves and jacket, taking in the bite on my arm ((it was his arm, right?)). I grabbed the first aid kit and somehow bandaged my arm, then started blushing as I went to take my shirt off. Once I had it off, I looked at my left shoulder, then nodded. "Thought so..." I said to myself as I examined the scar on my shoulder. A bite mark just the right size to be from a grown male, aka my dad.

"Just a few hours after the apocalypse started. My family were among the first ones who turned." I said.
Re: Nothing Left to Say
"Did your family get sick a lot?" I asked immediately in scientist mode.
