City in the Sky

"Yep."

I quickly found the terrace and walked to the door.

"I'm go get a snack, I'll be back."

"Ok." I found a seat outside and sat down as the first couple drops fell.

I quickly grabbed a bowl and poured potato chips in it, then grabbed two cups and poured water into it. I found a tray, set everything on it and walked outside and set it on the table. Before anything could get wet, I set up an umbrella under the table, originally to block sunlight, but oh well. I sat down next to her.

I smiled and looked up my glasses blocked most of the rain from getting in my eyes.

"Look at the view," I said, grabbing a chip.

I looked out over the city quietly.

I looked over at the buildings upon building that were New York.

"It's so different from Utah..."

"Really? How so?"

"There aren't as many buildings or as many people..."

I nodded. "Do you like it?"

"It's still a little overwhelming, but yeah I like it."

"Stick with me, I'm a big-city boy. You're a small town girl. Perfect match."

I laughed a bit, "Not that small of a town, it's technically a city, but Salt Lake is small compared to here and where I live is small compared to Salt Lake so..."

"Yeah. But still."

"Exactly."

I looked back over and sipped my water. The rainfall sounded wonderful.

I looked up again.

I closed my eyes.

I laid down so that I was laying across most of the couch with my head in his lap and kept looking up.

I gave out a long, happy sigh. I absent-mindedly ran a hand through her hair, brushing out the tangles.

I smiled a bit and stared at the clouds it was interesting looking at the rain from this angle.

I opened my eyes and looked down at her.
