Where we come from

“Jamie and yes I do Tea! You have a broken arm and Sam is a softie!”

"I have a place I can stay that isn't with you!" the girl, Tea, shouted.
I slowly lowered my guns and looked at Autumn. "Should we leave quickly?" I whispered.

“You left for a reason and you know it!” I yelled back before looking at the boy and the girl, “So what are your names?”

I looked her up and down. "My name is Aiden Larsen. This is my sister, Autumn Blake. I am the son of William Davis, former king of the South. Let us pass in peace, or my father will send an army here."

I studied him a bit looking for typical lying ticks, “Hmm... I believe that he’s your father, however I don’t think he’ll send an army.”

"Well, he may not, but my mom is strong enough for two of his armies."

“I believe that, but let’s never honest here if we were going to hurt you we would’ve already and we wouldn’t have exposed ourselves like this so...”

I put my guns completely away and mounted my bike again. "Let's go Autumn. Mom and Dad have waited long enough for us. Aunt Aubrey is going to kill us for making Mom worry."

“Where are you guys heading?”

"None of your business," I replied sharply. I didn't mean to come off rude, I was just so tired.

“Well we also have a place where you can rest and know how to evade the local gangs.”

I stopped and looked at her before looking at Autumn. "We do need a place to rest for a while... and our supplies are low," I muttered.

Autumn: I nodded slightly in agreement.

I looked back at the girls. "Lead the way, then."

I nodded and led the way back to the building we were staying in, Sam went back to sleep pretty much immediately.

I looked around. "What do you remember about the plague apocalypse?"

“Not much, I was pretty young.”

((I can do the math to see how old Jamie was when the plague ended. Just let me type it out to get it out of my thoughts.))

"Yeah. We were born in the threshold of it."

I nodded slightly, “How old are you?”

((Okay, so Jamie is 16. I imagine that it has been about one year since the wars ended, and I imagine that it was a five year war, making Jamie 10 and Aiden 13 when it started. I also imagine that there was a brief period of peace, 2-3 years. So, that would make Jamie around 8-9 when the plague started, but that would also mean that the plague lasted around 8-9 years after Autumn/Jamie were born.))

"19. I was born a year after it started."

((Since they're in Seattle, I imagine she wasn't affected by William's rule, but the West Ruler's rule.))

“Got it, so which king were you under?”

"As I said, my father is William Davis. But I didn't tell you everything."

“Southern King right?”

"Yes." I clenched my fist a bit. "He didn't love my mom or us, though. He was obsessed with us, the idea of having a 'perfect' family. He is my father, but he isn't my dad."
