Plague apocalypse RP

"Supplies."

I nodded. "I need to go to the hospital soon. I'm almost out of gas masks."

"Ok."

"What about you? You got a destination in mind?"

"Not really."

"Tell you what, you can come with me."

I glanced at Aiden he had fallen asleep again, "Ok..."

"We'll leave in the morning. I have enough oxygen for the night, then the journey."

I nodded and laid down with Aiden again.

"My camp is outside. I'll wake you up for breakfast."

"Ok." I held Aiden close and fell asleep.

I left her be and walked outside. I went back into my tent and wrapped myself up again before falling back asleep.

I woke up early and carefully got up and looked for more winter clothes that would fit me and Aiden  then put them in my backpack which was actually a big backpacking backpack not a school one.

I woke up three hours later to my coughing again. I quickly took the gas mask off and put on my last one. I took a deep breath and my vision cleared up. It was official. I had three hours to live if I couldn't find another mask. Not pondering this, I loaded up all of my stuff into my duffle bag and back pack and walked into the building again.

I gently woke Aiden up and got him in Winter clothes and gave him some jerky to eat then cleaned up the blankets and put them away.
"Em where's mommy?" I heard him ask quietly, I froze up a bit then turned to face him.
"Do you remember how everyone was getting sick?" He nodded so I kept talking, "Well mommy got sick and didn't want you to get sick, so she told me to keep you out of the house until she got better."
"When we going home?"
I winced a little, "I don't know sweetie."

I didn't mean to evesdrop, but I did anyways. I scoffed a bit to myself. What a cute lie she told him. If only that was the case.

I pulled my backpack on and picked him up.

I walked over to them. "You ready?" I asked.

I nodded and lead the way outside.

I followed and kept Aiden close, I didn't like lying to him, but he was two I couldn't just flat out tell him we couldn't go home because mom was dead.

I pulled up my bike. "Hey, Aiden, have you ever ridden a bike before?"

Aiden shook his head.

"Well, this bike is too big for you, but I bet we could find one for you after we go to the hospital. How does that sound?"

He curled up closer to me and nodded a little, "You might want to start riding, I know where the hospital is, I'll meet you there since we're on foot."
