"I'm not sure what a mosh pit is, but that's a nice sentiment, I'm assuming," I told him, noticing how flustered he had gotten. "If it makes you feel less embarrassed, I have conversations with Bronze constantly. Like, sometimes silent ones. I've been internally have a conversation with him this entire time."
'He's not wrong,' Bronze added, looking at Aiden expectantly.
'Oh, shush.'

I smiled a bit. "That's cool. I never know what things are thinking, but you literally have telepathic conversations and that's really cool."

"Not quite literally--I just know the body language of horses, and Bronze specifically, to be able to understand what he says. Or thinks, more accurately," I explained. I noticed the way Bronze sniffed at Aiden's hands, trying to get more food. "You get plenty of food," I told Bronze out loud, rubbing his forehead. "He acts like we neglect him."

I laughed a bit. "He's great."

((Why is that line so funny to me? I'm still grinning like an idiot.))

'I agree,' Bronze agreed, tossing his head a little.
"Ooh, be careful the compliments you give him. It'll go to his head and make him cocky," I warned Aiden, smiling. Bronze looked at me in mild annoyance.
'Stop with the attitude. You missed me while I was gone and are just upset I haven't explained it all to you yet.'
'You can't prove that,' he insisted.

(("He acts like we neglect him."))

"That sounds like my dad. He likes to pretend he's king of the world because he uses humor as a defense mechanism and likes to pretend he's invincible for mine and my mom's sake so we don't worry about him all the time."

((Ah, I thought so. Glad I can write with some humor))
"Oh," I managed. That wasn't what I was getting at with Bronze. If anything I'd been more of teasing my friend, but I didn't want to say anything that might embarrass him for attempting to relate to something.

"Sorry, that's a lot of sad info." I gently placed my hand on his back. "It's all fine, though."

I smiled at him and nodded slowly, trying to find the words to say. Nothing seemed to fit in the moment.
'More apples,' Bronze insisted, coming to my rescue as he nudged my hands and pockets. 'You missed giving me lots of apples while you were gone. I'm owed this.'
"Okay okay, Mr. Demanding," I laughed, caving in. "But only one more." I returned to the barrel and took out another apple, offering it to him.

I watched in soft admiration. Nic was just amazing and his smile was literally upsetting my heart's usually steady rhythm. It was a slight problem in a world that hadn't invented CPR or defibrillators.

I glanced back up at Aiden uncertainly. "Sorry, this must be boring for you." I walked back over to him. "We still have quite a bit of time 'til five if you wanted to do something else."

"No, this is fine. It's really... nice seeing you smile like this. It's nice seeing you comfortable, in your home."

I grinned. That was sweet. "I'm sure I'm feeling the best about being here, though," I told him. "At least you're holding up better than Artemis has been."

"Ah, I've always had an appreciation for the creations of man, no matter the era."

"To be honest, I expected you to be holding up worse than you are," I admitted. "But only because it sounds like technology that you have all the time is the most advanced of all of ours, while mine is clearly the least advanced. I expected a bit of a struggle, but instead it's just Artemis missing his comforts that his money gave him."

I snorted. "I come from money, believe me, but I don't really... like to depend on it. I guess I do, but probably not in the way Artemis does." I shrugged. "That's confusing, sorry."

"A little bit," I agreed, hesitating a little before adding anything. "But at least you haven't let it go to your head nearly as much as Artemis seems to have. I can't tell if he's just upset about not having money or the comforts he's used to or if he's actually homesick."
((I feel like this conversation has become pretty pointless. We should have a timeskip to 5))

((Yeah, I generally don't know where we're going with anything and I feel like I have no creative thoughts whatsoever right now, so... Aiden's response it is.))

I took a deep sigh and nodded. "That guy is impossible to read. He puts up too many walls so no one bothers to knock them down because he pushes away anyone who tries."

I nodded in agreement. The two of us talked for a while and took care of Bronze who, for the most part, remained constantly sarcastic and demanding. I glanced at the sky to find that it was already five. I looked around, not seeing our friends. "Looks like it's time for me to go hunt everyone else down."

((Do you ever wonder what your SQUIP would look like? Mine would have to be a woman because the Lord knows I wouldn't listen to a man that wasn't named Nathan Jenkins. Unless it was Alexander Calvert.))

"They'll be easy to find. They have Alistair and they don't exactly blend in."

Liv: I tried to keep an eye on Artemis who was dragging his feet wherever we went, I'm pretty sure he was the youngest in the group, so being one of the oldest I felt like it was my responsibility to make sure nothing happened to him. Plus I had gotten to talk to him a bit more when we were lost in the bunker so I knew that he was mostly just homesick, of course, he didn't want anyone to know that. I guess Artemis would rather be considered an arrogant jerk than a homesick kid. However, it wasn't my secret to tell, so if he didn't want the others to know I wasn't going to be the one to tell them.

Alistair: I was looking around while we walked. It was beautiful, and not so arifical as the other worlds. Man hadn't completely capitalized on the free real estate that nature provided in means of space. It was rather nice.
