Where we come from

I washed her plate as well before stopping. I was not washing 20+ plates and sets of silverware and cups. Everyone can wash their own and it would be less strenuous that way. "So, what do you want to do now?"

"I don't know, maybe explore? Do you have a favorite place here?"

I smiled a bit. "Yeah, but let me ask my mom if we can borrow the four wheelers." I walked back to the dining room, and was immediately tackled by someone small. I laughed a bit. "Hey, Asher, still short about all this time?" I asked jokingly to my little brother.

I smiled slightly and watched how he interacted with his little  brother because it was kinda cute.

I smiled because he got angry. He still had not hit his growth spurt, so I had to take my shots in before he did. Our dad was taller than my father, so logic states that if genetics worked in his favor, he was going to be taller than me. I laughed and tasseled his hair before pointing him in Autumn's direction.

"You know he's probably going to be taller than you, just from what I've noticed about the rest of your family, then he's going to get you back."

"Yeah, probably. That's why I gotta tease him now, you know? And, hey, I will always be older than him, so I have that going for me."

I smiled slightly, "I'm technically older than Sam its only a few minutes, but it counts."

I smiled back. "Come on, we have the four wheelers in the garage." I started leading the way, picking up the keys while I did.

"I've never driven a four wheeler."

"Then you can hop on the back of mine." We walked in the garage and I tossed her a helmet before putting my own on.

I nodded slightly and quickly put my helmet on.

I climbed on top of my fourwheeler and put the keys in the ignition. "Hop on behind me! You'll just to hold onto me, it's pretty safe."

I nodded and got on behind him.

I opened the garage with a remote and started driving.

I held onto him tightly, I didn't want to fall off.

I smiled slightly, closing the garage behind us and driving us off the property. I took a path down the mountain for five minutes until we ended up in Sunset Grove.

I looked around while we drove, it was really pretty up here.

I pulled to a stop and got off, taking my helmet off then offering her my hand to help her off.

I took his hand and carefully got off.

I smiled and led her to the single bench that overlooked the valley of a ghost town below that was in the cloud banks. It used to be inhabited, but after the plague, it wasn't. It was cleaned up of the bodies after, but we still never went there. "This is one of my favorite places because over there, you can see the sunset." I pointed to the sinking sun just above the distant mountains on the other side of the valley. "My parents got married here, too."

"It's beautiful up here."

I nodded and sat down on the bench, patting the spot down next to me for her to sit down on.

I smiled and sat next to him.

I smiled back and looked out to the valley. The sun was starting to set now.
