Nothing Left to Say

I nodded. "I'll send you a postcard. Good luck. Raise that kid well." I left the room and ran out to the garage.

I nodded a bit.

I quickly found the car and threw my stuff in. Then I started driving, fast, right in the direction Natalie left in.

I was going back to Bountiful, it was a dumb move, but I had a job.

I had no idea where I was going. I'd just have to rely on my tracking/detective skills, which would put me a day behind her.

Maybe I would move to Salt Lake and get a job at primary children's, change my name, maybe dye my hair. Easy.

I left all my country CDs in the truck! Now I had nothing to listen to! This was going to be a long drive.

I stopped at my apartment and packed everything then went to Salt Lake and got and apartment.

My tracking led me to Bountiful. When I got there, I saw Natalie packing stuff into her truck. I simply pulled over and watched. Then I followed her to what looked like Salt Lake.

I needed to ditch the truck he would notice it, but I couldn't just ditch it...

I decided to casually pass her, to make it look like I wasn't following her. I drove two blocks away before going back.

I sighed a bit well looks like salt lake is out...

I was getting kinda tired. I looked around for a place to stay.

I'll stay for tonight, he'll probably get a motel or something soon.

I did find a motel... But I had no money, I realize. Since we were recovering from an apocalypse, would they kick me out? I thought about this Before eventually just deciding to save myself the trouble and sleeping in the backseat of the car.

I started driving again, I wasn't sure where I was going to go though.

It was getting late, so I rolled up one of my jackets into a pillow and grabbed my blanket. I remembered that I gave Natalie my hoodie and red band. She probably didn't realize it.

I started driving again, maybe I'd go to Provo.

I closed my eyes and started to drift off.

I kept driving.

I woke up who knows how long later. It was the middle of the night. I have no idea why I was up.

On the way I dyed my hair black and got my truck repainted so it was blue instead of red. I also made a new fake ID that said my name was Melissa Brown so I could get an apartment

I looked out at the street lights. They were flickering. I quickly climbed into the drivers side, turned on the car, and drove away before I saw anything. I kept my gun with iron and salt bullets in my hand in case anything decided to show up in the backseat. Fortunately, I made it out alright.

After I got the apartment I went to the hospital to see if I could get a job.

I finally stopped after another long drive. However, I was too afraid to sleep, so I set a salt ring in the back of the car and just sat there, waiting.
