City in the Sky

I was careful while I worked, and checked for any traps.

I tried shaking my arms to get her to stop. Then, I started to stomp my foot.

I sighed and stopped then looked at her.

I shook my head furiously. "Possible alarm system," I mouthed. "I don't want them to know we're awake yet."

I nodded a tiny bit and sat back down.

"Sorry," I mouthed, then looked at Natalie. "Plan?"

Nat: I shook my head and saw Mads do the same thing.

I sighed. I wish I wasn't deaf. I hated Sherlock for that. For a couple years, I remembered the struggle of retraining myself to adapt to it. I saw a shadow in the little window on the door and I pretended to be asleep.

Nat: I closed my eyes and let myself go limp acting like I was asleep, Mads got the message and copied me and Christine after carefully moving back to where she had been.

Judging from the light that was over my eyelids, the door opened. Someone kicked my foot. They might have been talking, but I wasn't sure. They kicked my foot again, I ignored them, this time, purely out of spite.

Nat: I stayed limp and 'unconscious' ignoring everything around me.
Mads: I could tell someone was near me, but I didn't react.

Finally, they got super annoyed, so they just kicked my stomach. I groaned and opened my eyes. I saw lips moving, but I didn't hear anything.

Nat: Someone kicked me in the stomach like they had done to Christine and I opened my eyes, they better not do that to Madison.

I looked over at Madison, completely ignoring the guy. They didn't kick her, they just grabbed her arm and forced her up.

Mads: I opened my eyes and glared at them.

I saw him talking again, but I ignored him. I started thinking of other things, like, was Lenora okay? What about Tony? I think he noticed me not paying attention, because the next thing I knew, a rough hand grabbed my jaw and forced me to look up at him. I yawned, just to irritate him.

Mads: "She can't hear you."

Guard: "What do you mean?"

"I mean exactly what I said. She can't hear you."

Guard: "What is she? Deaf or somethin'?"

"Yeah, just like you."

Guard: I rolled my eyes and let go of the girl. "Mr. Walker is requesting all of you in his office."

Mads: "Good for him, tell him we aren't interested."

Guard: I glared. "Perhaps I confused you with the word requested."

Mads: "Perhaps I confused you with the word interested. I meant we aren't going to go to his office."
