Nothing Left to Say

I nodded a little.

I kissed her head. "They would have loved you almost as much as I do."

I nodded again.

I closed my eyes. I couldn't hold it back anymore. I started sobbing, but I felt bad because I didn't want Nat to see. On the other hand, it felt good to finally cry for them. They wouldn't have wanted me to, but I didn't do anything when they died, and I just held it in for so long...

I ran my thumb over his knuckles.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to me so I could hug her.

I hugged him back.

I rested my chin on her shoulder and started to calm down.

I rubbed his back.

My sobbing eventually faded into silent tears, and those faded into just deep breaths.

I kept rubbing his back.

I kissed her head. "Thank you for being here," I whispered.

"You're welcome."

"I know that if I'm going to spend the rest of my life with you, I need to confide with you how I'm actually feeling, huh?"

"Yeah."

I kissed her cheek.

I smiled a bit.

I stood up and held out my hand to her.

I took his hand.

I started to lead the way to the truck, but I heard rowdy voices coming from the other side of the lot.

I closed my eyes, but I didn't sleep, I just felt his small and warm body against mine. It was so dream-like despite me being conscious. He was afraid of me, I knew it.

I looked up.

There were about four guys, roughly my age, laughing obnoxiously and walking towards us. They didn't seem to have seen us yet.

I walked over to them.

"Nat, what are you doing?" I whispered.
