Fyre and Flame

"Ok."

I started to lead the way out.

I followed.

"Do you need any help?"

"I think I'm getting the hang of it."

I nodded and led the way.

I got the keys for a car. Hey, I may have been small, but I had my driver's license!

I kept following.

I got into a car. Not our hippie mobile, but a different car that her aunt had.

I got in the passenger seat.

I started it up and started to drive. "You have the address?"

"It's right there." I pointed out the house.

I nodded and pulled up. There were a bunch of cars.

I carefully got out.

I got out of the car and waited for her.

I followed her to the house.

I went to the backyard, since that's what the sign on the front door said to do. As we got closer, music became louder, Spanish music.

I kept my balance and followed.

We walked in, and immediatly, we were greeted by the scene of many dancing, singing, and laughing Hispanics and Latinos. One walked up to us. "Welcome, senoritas!" he greeted. He took Mar's hand and placed a light kiss on it. "I see you are not of the Acosta family, no?" he asked, eyeing her peachy skin tone.

I shook my head, "Just a friend."

He nodded and led us in. "Everyone is welcome, I have a few of my own friends I'd like to introduce you to," I finally recognized him as my cousin, Diego.

I nodded a bit.

"Tell me," he turned to me. "How are you related to an Acosta?" he asked. "My last name is Adams, actually. However, I know you're my second cousin through my Dad's side," I told him.

I watched the exchange and leaned on my crutches a bit.
