Fyre and Flame

I went to the kitchen to get a knife, then returned to Mar. Now all I had to do was wait for Santiago to show up.

"When is he coming?"

"7 at night, I think."

"It's 7:30, do you think he meant 7 in the morning tomorrow?"

"Oh. Probably."

"That way he has time to help you too and you can sleep."

((I asked my dad, if we have a BBQ o b the 4th you can come))

((Alright. I'll ask my parents if I can go.))

"Who can sleep? I"m too nervous!"

"You'll need your energy."

I sighed. "I know, but it'll be hard for me to fall asleep."

"I know."

I looked down. "I think I'm gonna be sick."

"Deep breaths."

I took deep breathes and tried not to think about the many ways they could kill me.

"It'll be ok."

"Will you be close just in case or is it too dangerous?"

"Too dangerous."

I sighed and nodded. "I know Santiago will be near, but I don't want him getting hurt either, should I fail."

I nodded a bit.

I sighed. "What's for dinner?"

"Speghetti."

I nodded.

I lead the way to the kitchen.

I followed, clutching my stomach.

I sat in my seat.

I sighed and looked up at her. I had to treasure this because, even though she didn't know it, Mar was the one who took the most care of me. She noticed when I didn't eat or when I was despondent. She noticed when I didn't want to do anything, or when I was too sad to get out of bed. She noticed when I was hurt and she wanted me to go beyond my limits. She always made sure I was healthy and tried to get me to eat. She always tried to cheer me up, and she always made me feel better.
I didn't want to leave her so soon. She meant so much to me, and thinking about the worst outcome and how it would affect her nearly made me cry. I quickly wiped my eyes before she would notice. I didn't want to make her feel bad.
