Fyre and Flame

I almost jumped off of Conviss until he stuck his arm out and grabbed my neck. I choked as he lifted me into the air. "HOWEVER!" He roared to the crowd. "Had she not been plotting to deceive and betray us at the first chance, she would have been able to join our ranks!" He tightened his grip on my neck.

"She choked up because she has Asthma!"

The king looked over at Santiago. "Not that kind of choked up. Her acting skills aren't as good as she thought." He turned back to me and threw me off if Conviss and onto the sand floor. I tried getting my air back.

"Yeah, whatever because you know everything right?"

He glared up at him before walking over to me. "The fire heart will be executed tomorrow!" He declared. "And the one who brought her here is cleared if any offenses he may have committed. After all, he only wanted for her to join us. Who knew she would betray him?" The crowd started booing and cheering and started throwing rocks again as the king leered down at me. I struggled to get back on my feet.

"She wouldn't betray me."

I was on my hands and knees when two sets of arms grabbed mine and pulled me up and started dragging me away. Conviss roared under the king's dragon.

I'll get her out.

I looked back at the crowd for Santiago, but found couldn't see him as I was dragged down a tunnel that lead out of the arena.

I watched which tunnel they pulled her down.

I tried struggling, but one of them backhanded me before too long.

I slipped down the corridor.

I looked down. What was Mar going to think when I didn't return? I held back tears as we stopped in front of a door. One lifted my arms up and the other started patting me down. They pulled out my inhaler, then the knife. They held it dangerously close to my face before shoving me into the room.

I kept following.

They dragged me to the far wall there were were shackles built in already. They chained my arms down as well as my ankles. They tossed the inhaler into my lap and left, but not before parting with kicking me in the stomach.
I groaned as they walked out and shut the door, leaving the room completely dark where I couldn't see anything and it was very cold as well.

I waited until they had left before picking the lock.

I shivered. The metal was freezing, and they also took my hand warmers!

I got in the room.

I looked up. "Who's there?" I whispered.

I undid her cuffs.

"Santiago?" I looked at my wrists. Well, I couldn't see them, but I was betting they were a different color from the cold.

"Yeah." I gave her a couple more handwarmers.

I held them tight. "Thank you, but you shouldn't be here."

I shrugged a bit, "Everyone is going to bed."

"You need to go warn Mar."
