((Man, I got this weird pain in my right arm, but I don't think it's high enough to be a heart attack. It comes and goes, but it is still weird and kinda sharp. If it is a heart attack, I hope it holds off until the beginning of school next year. Also, we're past that. They kinda already ran into the portal.))

“So... where to first?”

I shot up, looking around. "We have to get to Lebanon, Kansas. The bunker is there, and my family, probably. We'll be safe there." I tried looking for an indicator of where we were at.

"Where are we, anyway?" I asked. "And what exactly are we going to do to bring back Nic? You'd mentioned God before, so do we have to just pray or what?"

((blehh, I gotta get off the computer. If y'all need me for any posting you'll have to text me and catch me up on what I miss (from today til a week from today)))

"Seems we're in Wichita, only a few hours from Lebanon by car. I can fly us there easy, however." I turned back to the others and held out both my hands. "Hold on to me, and don't let go."

((Dang I only missed 1 post, I'm surprised. Where's Kennedy been?))
I reluctantly held on to the girl, a bit bitter she had ignored my second, and to me the most important. question. I'd watched him die in my arms and everyone else seemed not to care very much. If there was a way to bring him back then it seemed to me like that should be our focus and our goal, not our own safety. I glanced at Alistair uncertainly, trying to judge if he was as shaken and upset as I was. Of all my new companions he had seemed the closest to Nic.

((California. It's just been me because I haven't got a job yet despite applying to 3-4 places...))

Kira: I watched as the others grabbed on, Alistair wiping away some tears before doing so. I could turn off emotions for some part, so I wasn't so shaken up so I could concentrate. I flew us to Lebanon, right outside the Bunker entrance. "I wonder if my brothers are home," I muttered before opening the door and leading the way in.

((Ah, for how long? Have you applied to Zupas yet?))
I glanced at Alistair again as we headed inside. "You okay?" I whispered uncertainly, feeling guilty that I had thought for even a second that I was the most hurt by Nic dying. I hadn't known him for long. I didn't even know how long he had known the others. For all I knew they had been close friends and allies for weeks. I had no idea what kind of relationships any of my companions had.

((Yeah, online. It took me to this website for applicants that I had to sign up for.))

Alistair: I wiped my eyes again. "Uh, no, not really. See, I've known Nic for a little period of time as well, but I've come to think of him as a little brother that I never had. And he was just... taken so suddenly..." I stopped talking as my throat started closing up. I just didn't like crying in front of other people.

((Honestly, just go in the store in person and ask the person at cash for an application, especially if a manager (Miranda specifically, since she does the hiring and interviews) is in. I've seen so many people have the same thing that happened to me happen, which is come in for an application, then be partially through filling it out before getting asked if they'd like to interview on the spot (and several times they leave with a job like I did. And if you're asked if you have a referral, there's always me. OMG I just realised I'll have been working at Zupas for 1 year in 4 days))


I patted his arm gently, looking down at my shoes as I trailed after Kira still. I wasn't sure what I could even tell him to make him feel better. Compared to Alistair it seemed like I shouldn't be very affected. He'd thought of Nic as a brother, and me? I'd found him cute, and had what was perhaps a minor crush on him. If anyone had the right to be truly upset, it wasn't me. "I'm sorry," I managed.

((Alright, that sounds good. Now I'm wondering if people actually look at their online applications.))

"Don't be. Death, it follows me around. Honestly, I shouldn't be affected by it anymore," I chuckled bitterly. Kira led us through the dark hall and we came on a door. She opened it and led the way through. We were suddenly standing on a balcony that overlooked a library. My inner librarian was nerding out. "Wow," I whispered.
Kira started walking down some stairs. "Welcome to the Men of Letters Bunker!" she called.

((My personal policy is to always ask in person for applications, only filling out online if they tell me they do online applications. It feels more productive that way, plus showing up in person when they have online stuff available shows a different level of dedication than there would be otherwise, ya know?))

I was tempted to ask for further elaboration but was interrupted by Kira announcing where we were. I whistled as I glanced around. I was instantly aware of how low tech the room was, however, it did look nice and was well lit.

((I mean, that's one way to look at it. My parents don't exactly have the time to drive me back and forth to every little spot where I want a job, it's a waste of gas.))

I followed her down the stairs. "SAM! DEAN!" she yelled. Why did those names sound familiar? I reached into my bag and in my hands was a book called Supernatural. "Huh. Thank you, magic bag," I muttered before flicking the copy open and sliding to a seat at one of the tables.

I wasn't sure where to keep my focus at as I wandered around the room, settling for examining several of the books on the shelves. The majority of them were old, with the traditional leather covers. I flipped through one of them uncertainly. While I couldn't read whatever language it was written in, the small pictures that filled the pages seemed dark and honestly rather disturbing. It was like some cult level creepy stuff. I put the book back on the shelf uncertainly.

((Yeah, no dissing intended.))

"Holy crap," I muttered while skimming through the book. Murder and death really did seem to be a reoccurring element in this book.
Kira: I called for them again, adding Cas's name, but nothing. "I hope they didn't get sucked in the t.v. again," I muttered, looking around. I looked back to the group. "Make yourselves at home, I'll show you the kitchen in a second!" I called.

I glanced up, concerned about how Kira casually hoped they weren't sucked into a TV. The most concerning part about that was the way she referenced a previous time that had happened. Suddenly I didn't want to be touching things in the bunker, keenly aware that things here were abnormal.

I went to the archives, to see if they were holed up there... or if they were torturing someone in the secret dungeon we had hidden in the archives. Nothing. I shrugged before walking back. "My brothers are gone, they're probably on a hunt. I'll text some other hunters to see if they got word of what they were up to while I was gone. In the meantime, I should educate you guys on my world."

"Yeah, that sounds good. I'm a bit concerned. I'm not gonna lie, those books looked really... cult-y."

"That's probably because they are." I set my duffel on the table next to Alistair and started emptying it, showing off my array of weapons. "First off, every monster from your nightmares is real in my world. Second, every monster from your nightmares, I kill for a living. And this place is the ultimate resource nest for information on how to kill your nightmares, so don't go touching anything that you have no idea what it is. Don't tinker with any of this stuff," I looked at Aiden. "Even if you think it's going to help invent some new cool tech, it will more than likely eat your hand off instead."

I put my hands up defensively. "That sounds like the kind of stuff you should say before you tell people to 'make themselves at home'," I pointed out, now crossing my arms and walking away from the bookshelves, internally paranoid already. This world did not sound fun, and I definitely hadn't signed up for this. At this point I was just trying to bring Nic back if possible, and get home. But I guess this was what I deserved after doing exactly what dad told me NOT to do a million times. Next time I'd actually listen to him.

"Relax! No one has died here from poking around, yet," I muttered the last word to myself. "Now, I'm going to go get the stuff for a demon summoning spell so I can see if Azazel is still using Nic's body. You're welcome to help if you want."
