FEBRUARY'S Fun Prompt!

((Yes; what about it? dang it, my dad was watching a dumb show that trew me way off track.))

((Oh ok that makes sense now))

((Yeah... I don't want to complain on whhb... I'm still a bit off, though, so forgive me for weak and/or rude posts.)) "Oh, that's cool."

((Ok)) "yeah... seriously though if I end up finding a cellphone in there I'm going to start wondering what else they stashed."

"Hmm. Why would they put a cellphone in your backpack?"

"I don't know why did they put a spider in my backpack?"

"I can understand the spider; doesn't technology draw the attention of monsters, though?"

"Yes, but a few people still had them, just in case they really needed to call someone. Plus if not one Hermes' kid took a cellphone during the second Titan war I would be shocked."

"Yeah... planting a monster magnet in your backpack seems a bit harsh, though."

I laughed, "they only attract monsters if we're using them."

"Oh..." I gave myself a mental kick. This healing thing may or may not slow my thought process if i don't concentrate enough.

"It's fine you didn't know."

"Yeah... hold on, I won't be able to speak for a second." I had gotten to the most painful part in the healing process. I was going to have to re-grow her bones slightly; it hurt a lot. I concentrated on her being, connecting with her. I focused on her brain, particularly the pain receptors. I focused on those, creating an electrical bridge that would allow me to feel the pain for her. "Alright, this next part won't hurt as much." I started on it, using surrounding air particles and other matter around us to substitute for the needed bone. Her brain was trying to scream at her that it hurt, but instead my body was receiving the signals, causing extremely sharp pain to shoot through my knee, almost fazing me as it traveled through my body. I knew how to handle pain, though; even as bad as this. I covered up my angst. I didn't want to lie to her, but I didn't want her to know I was doing this. I was afraid of seeming rude, or sexist. Finally it was over; her bones were completely healed. I let go of her knee, my eyes shooting open and my lungs involuntarily sucking in air in a releived gasp as the pain subsided. "Huh... all done."

"You took the pain didn't you."

I looked into her eyes. "How could you tell?"

"I spent years learning how to read people. You winced slightly right at the beginning and sighed in relief at the end both involuntary."

"Yeah... it's kind of hard to cover up... sorry. Don't be mad; it's not that I don't think you can take tha pain, I swear, it's just... I'd rather feel the pain than know that you're going through that."

I kissed his cheek quickly, "I'm not mad, that was very sweet, but next time maybe 50-50?"

((no she didn't))

"60-40?"

"55-45?"

I chuckled. "Well, technically girls have a natural higher pain tolerance, so I'll give you five percent."
