I stepped in front of her. "And another thing; why so cold? Where's the usual dorky, talkative Lenora? Unless... well... there's something else..." Most of the guys I knew, including myself, weren't legitimately scared of much, but ask anyone if girls scared them, and you'd get a resounding yes. And only for one particular reason. I slowly took a step backwards, but stopped. Luke had specifically said to make sure Lenora never went without a set of eyes on her.

"Hey!... back off a bit!" I said running towards Lenora, pushing Jays shoulder a bit giving him a glare... "sometimes Lenora needs her space, and the space you're giving her is off point..."

"It's fine Hatsu, I know Jay pretty well he's actually scared of me, but won't admit it."

I put my arm around Hatsu's shoulder firmly so he couldn't shake me off. "Look, I don't mean any offense, but Lenora and I have been friends for years. I don't know that you belong in the shoving me away category."

"Anyway," I said before they could start arguing, "The answer to your earlier thought is yes by the way. So you should be scared." I was joking now, sort of...

"Right. I think I'll stick around, though. I may not be your brother, but you have a tendency to explore things you shouldn't" I let go of Hatsu. Things she shouldn't be exploring; Hatsu, first of all, and second, anyone like him. Now I understood why Luke wanted me to keep an eye on her.

"I do not! Ok that's a lie..."

I chuckled. "Just a year ago you were exporing rattlesnakes when this happened." I brushed the twin scars on her bicep where the snake had struck.

"Lenora that doesn't help..." I said turning to her in anger then back at Jay. "you should know what happens when I get angry boy." I said looking like I was about to turn into black Hatsu. "And I know what your thinking... I could see it in your face... your saying that Luke sent you to watch over Lenora because of me isn't it?" I said shoving my hands in my pocket to keep me from punching Jay.

"Oh yeah I was wondering how close you have to get before they strike, and Hatsu calm down please."

I chuckled. "You can't possibly get any worse than Luke used to. And Luke has nothing to do with why I'm sticking around. He just gave me a suggestion."

I was starting to get extremely suspicious, "Uh huh a suggestion, sorry, but that's not like Luke he probably made it sound like a suggestion."

I turned my head to the side and growled. He was going to stay with Lenora all day and push me around like a baby... and he already knows I have never liked that... "uugghh!" I yelled as I pushed my hair back.
