"Maybe..." I shrugged. I didn't know Lexi all that well, and I couldn't judge. 'You can't make bricks without clay.' As Sherlock says.

I wanted to keep denying it. "I'm not special. I'm just normal. The only things that I am good at are sports and ignoring other people."

"Yeah that would probably be smart Jessie. An Lexi you are special. Is everyone ready to go back?"

"After a half hour of looking through a phone book, I discovered my distant cousins live next to Mar's," I said. "Jessie Adams, please to meet you," I said, holding out my hand.

I sighed. I wasn't special. At all. My dad had died. I'd been broken for years. I faked tough, faked my smiles. I pretended to be having fun. I still do. Ike has helped me without knowing it. In the end, I always end up needing someone else. "Yeah." I replied at last.
