Something musical?

I hopped out of the truck, holding the bougainvillea tree. "Back up to the roof now?" I asked as I walked over to the others.

"Yeah... Are we really going to walk through all those people?"

"Unless you know of another way, yeah." I said. "Sorry, though, I don't know of another way with less people, so..."

"Fire escape?" I suggested pointing at the fire escape that went up to the roof.

I paused. "Good idea."

"Thanks."

"Off we go, then!" I said and headed for our new shortcut.

I smiled slightly and followed.

It felt wierd going UP the fire escape, especially while carrying a tree. I worried about tripping and either falling off the edge or dropping the tree off the edge, which, either way, would be terrible.

I followed carefully I didn't want to fall.

In the end no one, people and plants alike, fell off the edge. I set the tree down in the greenhouse and jogged back down the fire escape. This time I grabbed two trees at once so I could take fewer trips up and down the stairs.

I set down my plants and went back down grabbing one of the trees while my dad grabbed the last one he had brought two up earlier.

As I set the trees down I looked around. We still had some plants to grab from Lilly's car. I headed back down the stairs, and vowed that it would be for the last time, grabbed most of the plants still left in the car, and headed back up the fire escape. I set them down next to the other plants. I looked around. I really didn't want to take the time to plant all of these...

I locked my car from the roof and found some shovels, "This is going to take a while..."

"The trees are in pots, so we don't have to plant them, which would save some time." I pointed out, trying to be optimistic.

"That's true."

"Let's get to work." I said and grabbed a shovel. I started making some holes to put the zucchini in. Planting the zucchini took a lot less time than I had expected.

I started working on carrots while my dad worked on peppers and L worked on tomatoes.

I started planting the herbs and spices one I'd finished with the zucchini. This wasn't taking nearly as much time as I'd thought.

I finished with the carrots and started planting the strawberries. The blueberries, raspberries and blackberries were already in pots and were more of bushes anyway so the didn't need to be planted.

I admired my work for a second. "That took a lot less time than I'd thought it would." I declared happily.

I watched L and my dad finish the flowers and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, it really didn't take long."

"I'm going to go look at the view again." I told her and headed out of the greenhouse and back over towards the edge. There was a small metal fence that blocked off the edge, which made falling much less likely. I sat down and hung my feet over the edge. People might think that I was going to jump off, but I wasn't, I was just thinking and enjoying the view.

I said bye to my dad and he climbed back down the fire escape then drove away.
