I set my bag down on the bed. "Thank you much, ma'am." I looked around the room. It was slightly bigger than any room I'd ever bunked in before. "It's very nice."

I snorted a bit, kinda uncomfortable now. I mean, I understood and I was in the same both as her, but still. That was kinda sad, but I realized I had no room to talk about sad.

I got changed into a comfier set of clothes and laid down, trying to ease myself enough into relaxing so I could sleep.

Eventually, I was eased enough and closed my eyes, finally drifting off.

It was an uneasy sleep, but it was still sleep. I woke up some hours later and was confused until I remembered. It had to be the dead of night right now, since it was still really dark outside.

I sighed and slowly crawled out of bed. I was thirsty, so I was going to go find some water. I crept out of my room and down the stairs.

I was rubbing my eyes from the lack of sleep. I looked over and I saw her. "What are you doing awake?" I asked, which was probably not something I should have asked.
