"So, is that like, a pen sword or something?"

"Yeah, my brother has one too."

((Yeah this RP feels like it's gonna go nowhere anytime soon, partially because no one really gets on because we all have lives now and a little bit just because each response is literally like a sentence, which /shockingly/ isn't much to build on. Anyway, I kinda don't see much of a point in trying to continue this again. Sorry, but, like I said, the progress is way slow, so unless we come up with some kind of schedule for posting freaking paragraphs at a time, maybe even using other characters, I'm done. So until something is sorted out if that happens, I'm only on for the March rewrite I'm working on.))

Liv: "...Right..." I carefully sharpened it and glanced at a calendar before sighing softly. I'd been prepping for this for months, but now that the day was her I was internally freaking out.
Artemis: "So what exactly is the plan here?"

Alasitar: "I suppose we rush in blindly and hope at least 85% of us don't die?" I shrugged and examined my sword, wondering if it turned into a pen as well.

Liv: I saw him examining it and took a guess on what he was thinking, "That one is just a regular sword."
Artemis: "Wow that's a fantastic plan they should give you a medal," I muttered sarcastically.

I nodded, a bit disappointed, but I slid it into my hilt anyways before looking over at Artemis. "It's more than what you have, hot shot. Do you wanna take a crack at it?"

Artemis: I cracked my knuckles a bit and pulled out a piece of paper, "Olivia would you mind drawing the layout of the area we'll be fighting in? Please note any accessible high places, water sources, and where the ritual is supposed to be performed. Also are any of your friends from camp coming to help?"
Olivia: I switched to my Athena side and sketched out a map of the area, then I wrote a list of people who were coming from camp and what they could do.

I folded my arms and looked away. What a pompous show off. Thoughts of murder crossed my mind for a second and I unfolded my arms. I rubbed over my heart before watching Olivia.

Artemis: "Thank you." I looked over the map a bit before pointing out a high spot, "We'll put the archers here," I pointed to another spot this one Bea the trees and the water, "The water benders here," I pointed to one final spot that would be in shadows, "and the shadow benders here, the rest will stay in the tree line so we can ambush the enemy while Olivia stands in a devils trap that we're going to paint right here, " I pointed to the center of the map where the ritual was supposed to take place.

I looked over his map. "Alright, how are we going to do this? Have a wall of people or a wave of troops?"

Artemis: "The nightmare takes place at night," Olivia said quietly. I nodded, "Water and shadow benders immobilize as many as possible and archers shoot as many as possible, then our ambush group attacks."

I watched them. I wasn't a strategist anyways. I just did what I was told. I just hated that Artemis was good at this. The pompous pretty boy who rarely had to work a day in his life, I bet. I guess you could call it envy when you grow up in a literal hovel.

((I am tired and getting muscle spasms in my leg which feels like it should be numb. Goodnight!))

I sighed and got up, limping over to the others and their map and looked at it with focus. "If we have enough archers it'd actually be better to split them up between two or even possibly 3 high spots." I pointed at a couple of the higher points. "This area looks like it even would have more cover so archers would be less likely to be seen there." I paused, thinking about the positions of the constellations and moon throughout the night. "Yeah, even with the light from the moon and stars this spot shouldn't have much of any shadow cast below to give away the locations of people." I studied the list of names. "How many of these are archers? If there are about 20 then they could spit up in half, half going where I pointed and half where Artemis said. That way targets are more likely to be shot if one group shoots first and gets attention before the other starts with people's backs to them." I glanced up at the others finally, noting with slight satisfaction their mildly surprised expressions at my sudden thoughtful input.

I smiled softly at the astonished look at Artemis's face, but I stood up. "Hey, guys, I'm no strategist, I just do what I'm told. I'm gonna get us some coffee, be a use that way." I grabbed my wallet and gun. "I'll be back." I started to head for the door.

"I'm always grateful for coffee," I replied, flashing a small grin. "Besides, we've got good enough minds thinking strategy so I bet we'll be fine." I didn't say anything about the times I'd had to think strategy. Those would be stories for another time, if things went well enough so we didn't die.

I gave him a nod of acknowledgement before walking out. I doubled checked to make sure I had my wallet before walking downstairs, to where they had a resturant.

I briefly wondered if he'd remember that I take my coffee with honey. I shrugged off the thought and got back to correcting a few of the places that Artemis had pointed to, giving slightly better locations whilst making sure to tell him why other locations were better. That way he'd learn something from what I said. "And then with actual battle strategy it's best for the volleys of arrows to start first and try and thin out their ranks before they reach our ground troops. From the moment that their ranks hit ours the archers need to be more careful not to hit any of our men."

I got several orders of drinks. Straight black for me with a shot of pumpkin and cinnamon. Also, honey for Nic, Chai Tea for Artemis, and black for Olivia and Kira, but I robbed them of creamers and sugars so they could make their own. I paid, and left, walking around a bit, examining the place a bit more.

((I wrote another full chapter today. I think I have a problem. Now I'm trying to figure out how to continue it well. I keep changing my adaption around so it's already getting harder to work with because I keep needing to jump around a lot or skip things. Ooh, I think I got what to do next! Finally!))
"It would be best to have someone in charge of each group as well," I added. "I could take charge of one group of archers."

I finally got into the elevator and immediately felt a terrible, crushing pain in my chest, right where my heart was supposed to be. I dropped the drinks, but I didn't care as I doubled over, clutching my chest.
