New Year, New February RP?

I nodded slightly.

I looked up at the sky. "The starts are out now. Do you still want me to teach you?" I spoke softly.

I nodded slightly.

I nodded and looked at the stars, trying to figure out what constellations they were.

I watched him.

I got a bit closer to her and pointed up at the sky. "See that really bright star, over there?" I asked.

I looked at it and nodded, “Yeah.”

"That's the North Star, Polaris. It's the brightest star in the sky, but also part of Ursa Minor, or Little Bear. It's right near the Little Dipper, right there." I traced my finger along the sky and pointed. "See it?"

I nodded and looked at the stars he was tracing.

"Now, Polaris is a constant in the sky, basically. You can always find the North Star to point you north, so we know that we're in the Northern Hemisphere, at least, so that narrows down the constellations visible to us right now." I looked around. "But because the earth is constantly spinning, that means nearly everywhere in the northern hemisphere, almost." I looked back up. "There are several mountain regions in the Northern Hemisphere, so if we can narrow that down, we can tell where we're at."

I nodded slightly.

I hummed a bit, studying the geography. "I don't know if we're in America, but I like to think the chances are likely. What do you think?"

“It seems too cold to be America.”

"But we are in the mountains, but I suppose you're right. Maybe Canada, then?"

“Keep in mind that anything below 60 degrees is cold to me.”

I laughed a bit. "Right, right." I looked around some more.

I smiled a bit and looked at the stars again.

I looked at the stars again. "Some constellations aren't visible because of the time of year."

“Makes sense.” I stifled a small yawn.

I looked at her. "Get some sleep. I'll keep watch if you're scared."

I nodded slightly and laid down in my shelter.

I pulled out my pocket knife and played with it absent-mindedly while looked around. I fed the fire every so often for warmth.

I fell asleep.

I sighed and looked up at the stars. Where were we?

I slept for a few hours, then woke up cause the sun was coming up.
