New Year, New February RP?

"I'm sorry, you have to think with your head and your heart in medicine, It's hard to put the adequate amount of effort into helping someone if you don't care about them." I moved a little closer to him.

"Well, I had to be tough as a military kid otherwise the other kids would pick on me." I looked down at her, sure that my usually stoic expression was intimidating. "I used to be a scrawny kid until I dedicated at least 3 days a week to solid body building and a good diet, but I have a weekly cheat day. I like the principle that my body is a temple, so I built it up once I turned 13. Before that, I just outsmarted everyone else."

"You know you can be tough without turning off your emotions, sometimes emotions give you something to fight for which can make you tougher."

"I've never needed to fight for anything other than my own protection and my dads, but my dads can handle themselves. They fight well enough that I've never had to."

I nodded slightly, "You've really never had a crush on someone before?"

I shook my head. "Never sat still long enough to form one. What about you?"

"Not even temporary ones? One time I developed a crush on some random guy on the bus, never saw him again, but for about 15 minutes I was head over heels then I realized it was stupid and moved on."

I laughed. "No, not really those either. I guess I just don't see people as worth my time because I'm so focused on other things."

I looked up at him, "That's interesting, but kinda sad..."

I looked down at her, meeting her eyes. Her intense green eyes. "Yeah, probably," I muttered.

"Sorry, that probably sounds harsh... I just don't know what I would do without people I cared about and talking to people, I kinda talk to anyone and everyone. My goal is to see them all smile before I walk away."

"That's a really nice goal. It seems you and I are opposites. A little cliche, but who cares?" I studied her face, every detail of it being photocopied into my memory. Was it me, or was her face getting closer to mine? Close enough that I could see new details with each second until my eyes glanced down to her lips. I started memorizing the details of her lips until I couldn't see them anymore. I closed my eyes as I leaned in.

I smiled slightly and closed my eyes as I closed the small distance between our lips and kissed him.

I kissed her gently, slowly moving my hand up to cup her face, my thumb lightly stroking her cheek while I scooted closer, leaning in more.

I smiled a bit more and slipped my arms around his neck carefully, so I could pull him closer. I almost didn't notice the weird noise that sounded vaguely like a camera zooming in.

I pulled away after a long second, still looking down at her, still holding her. "Was that good?" I whispered.

I nodded slightly, my cheeks turning light pink.

((Night))

I nodded a bit back, studying her face again before pulling away. "Stay warm," I advised her before grabbing my lance. "If anything happens, just swing this around like crazy." I placed it next to her before bending down and kissing her again, this time, a lot quicker. "Good night." I walked over to my small sleeping area.

I smiled a little and pulled the blanket tighter around me  with the lance resting on my lap.

I pulled my jacket on and laid down, falling into an easy sleep pretty quickly.

I kept an eye on the cable and watched for anything strange.

((So, should anything happen, or should be wait until the next night?))

I had weird dreams, but that was nothing new.
