Tumblr Academy reimagined

Matt: "Stark Industries..." I repeated, searching my database for any such industry. I paused and looked at Aiden weirdly. "That's from an old movie, it's been 30 years, and comic books dated back before that. Why are you asking?" I stood up straighter, moving my hand from my side of my head slowly. I could tell that the LED would be lit up yellow.

Nic: I noticed the round light the size of a royal on his right temple. It was yellow, blinking occasionally. "I'm Nic," I managed eventually, glancing at the others worriedly. I wasn't sure what an android was, so I tried to judge their reactions to the news.

Aiden: "From a movie? Man, that's kinda cool. Okay, okay, I'm the son of Tony Stark. The legit Iron Man."

Matt: "But that's not..." I trailed off, frowning a little as I failed once again to determine my location. "Where am I?" I repeated, more demanding than the first time I'd asked the question. The shorter boy with the cape that had dragged me over here frowned a little.
"You're in a different world," he explained after a moment. "This is Araluen, my world. All of us here are from different worlds where different things are real. Theirs have magic and other weird stuff."
"Your world is medieval Europe?" I asked, appalled. "Technology here is just better than that of the stone ages. Is there any worse place for an android?"
He paused again, glancing at the others. "I don't actually know what an android is," he admitted.

"An android is a robot with a human appearance. I worked with one before, his name was Vision and he was cool. So, where you from, Matt? What city, state, province, etcetera?"

Liv: I stayed back a bit, me and technology don't mix very well, but Artemis went right up to the android and started inspecting it.

Alistair: I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and rested my chin on top of her head. "Are you weary of technology? You know the monsters can't hurt you now, right?"

"I know they can't, but old habits die hard and I can't even use the technology in my world all that well, I don't want to try to figure out tech from years and years in the future. Honestly its kind of crazy that I know how to use a phone, I'm a soldier, not a techie."

((I'm laughing silently at the whole "I'm a soldier, not a techie" thing. That's a first for one of your characters, ain't it?))

"Mmm hmm," I hummed, not wanting to nod because I didn't want to hit her with my chin, nor did I want to hit my chin.

"What? You sound like you don't believe me."

"Oh no, I do believe you, I just don't want to nod because I don't want to hit you with my chin." I kissed her head lightly. I looked down the alley, making sure no one had entered or was watching at what we were doing. It seemed no one really cared, which was good.

"Ok, if you say so. Leo thinks its dumb that we aren't all trying to figure out more tech, so he's been trying to make stuff monster proof, but I think it's going to take a little while to catch on just because we've been told to stay away from that stuff for so long."

"It sounds like he's just trying to help. Innovate, you know? I mean, you both have your stances. You, being the all mighty demigod must have attracted monsters from a very very young age, so you've avoided tech for a very very young age as well. Am I right?"

I nodded slightly, "I attract too many monsters as is, I don't need to encourage that with tech, that being said I did take him up on his offer of a monster proof phone so I could keep in touch with my mom, but I always get really nervous when I use it."

I frowned a bit. "You don't talk about your parents a lot. Why is that?"

I shrugged a little, "I didn't notice that I didn't talk about them, but my dad is a Greek god so you know there's not a ton to talk about there. My mom is a mortal, but she can see through the mist, so she knows what the monsters look like and can see them coming. I can't really be around her much because not only is she in danger, but so is my stepdad and my baby sister who was born not too long ago and I don't want that. Percy and I definitely can't be there together for longer than an hour neither of us want to risk the baby getting hurt."

((Longer replies because I'm on my laptop so I can actually use all the keys and stuff so yeah...))

I frowned a little bit more. "I'm sorry. That's terrible."

"It's fine, that's just our life. We're use to it by now if we weren't we would be dead."

I hugged her a bit tighter. "I know how you feel, being a threat to the ones you love over something you have no control over."

"That's why I'm so grateful the camps exist, I mean my mortal family members can't really come in without special permission, but it's still nice to have a place that's safe where I can train and hang out with my friends."

"I wish I had that," I muttered. Hypothetically, Rumplestiltskin could kill me at any time he wanted, which would be when it benefited him most... or he was bored.

"Fortunately other worlds are kinda similar to camp, I get to train and hang out with friends in a safe-ish place."

I nodded. "That's good. Being in different worlds is kind of... refreshing, for lack of better words."

"Kinda annoying sometimes, but yeah I can see where you're coming from."

I laughed a bit and closed my eyes. I breathe in her scent and the fresh air. It was an overall nice feeling.
