I walked downstairs, rubbing my eyes. I was kinda hungry, but I wasn't going to tell Natalie that.

"I know a thing or two about cars. My adoptive dad used to make me work on his all the time so he didn't have to pay for mechanics. I had to get it right the first time otherwise he would have backhanded me behind the ear, ya know?"

"Spices," I muttered before opening several cabinets before finding what I wanted. I pulled out three. "A little goes a long way," I muttered. "Do you mind?" I gestured to the chicken.
