Cheese

I coughed up salt water, but despite that fact, I still tried to thank him while coughing, which only caused more coughing. It sounded a lot like this. "Th*coughing fit*nks *more coughing* for *more coughing* savi*cough, cough, hack, hack*ng m*more coughing and hacking*e *pukes up contents of stomach, which is a surprising amount of sea water*." It wasn't fun... for me OR Cheesy, since he was the one flying me around while I puked the ocean back into the ocean.

"Do you think you can teleport us back, or do I need to fly us back up there?" I hoped he could teleport us back up there, because all the flying was wearing me out. Plus he was rather heavy, I didn't know how long I could carry him.

I gasped for breath. I could barely talk thanks to the salt water, so I just nodded. I got ready to teleport. "Get... Ready..." I said, trying to ignore the burning in my throat from the salt water.

Right as he was about to teleport something curled around my leg. I was yanked free of my grasp on Calvin right as he teleported. Suddenly I was pulled down under the water. I was able to dimly see some huge octopus or squid dragging me down. My lungs were burning. I tried to break free but more tentacles wrapped around my legs and waist. I was going to die. My vision was blurring and going black. I was going to drown. My lungs desperately needed air. 
     Tony and Hawkeye were waiting nervously on the deck. Suddenly Calvin appeared on the deck, all alone. He practically collapsed when he appeared. Hawkeye helped him to his feet. Everyone looked around for Cheesy, but he was nowhere to be found. After about thirty seconds Tony had on his suit and was flying down looking for Cheesy. He went under the water, since his suit allows it, and was able to see Cheesy unconscious. He quickly was able to make the squid drop him and grabbed his limp body, flying him back to the hellicarrier. Cheesy was placed on the hellicarrier, no one moved, he wasn't breathing.
     Suddenly I coughed up seawater. I rolled onto my stomach and puked up everything that was in my stomach. My hand was burning worse from the salt that had gotten in the burn. I was dripping wet and shivering. My teeth chattered. My throat burned from the salt water, the same went for my nose and eyes. "Remind," I coughed up more water. "Me," I choked on some seawater in my throat. "Never to," I gagged as water came out my nose. "Eat," I gasped for more air. "Squid." They all laughed nervously.
     "Yeah, I'll start making a list." Tony said only somewhat sarcastically. I tried to laugh but ended up choking and coughing up more seawater. Everything hurt. My prototype suit had huge rips in the metal. Where the squid had grabbed me it's barbed tentacles left cuts, welts, and bruises. When I recovered enough they pulled me to my feet, but it hurt like heck. They allowed me to take the day off from practice. I just lay on the bed in the room I'd been given. I never wanted to move again. I'd looked in the mirror as I'd walked, if you could even call it walking, into my room. Some of the squid's tentacles had attached to the right side of my face and left circular cuts from the corner of my eye down my neck, but they weren't perfect circles, they were jagged too. The suit had mostly protected me from there down. Those cuts would probably leave scars.
     I'd lay down on the bed, not even bothering to take off the suit. It took about an hour, but I drifted off to sleep, which wasn't nicer than what had actually happened. I just dreamed about being fully conscious during the squid attack. Even in the dream I could feel the pain of it. Then, suddenly the dream changed without warning. It was now about some man, in all black armor, sitting at a computer. It was as if he was actually doing that while I dreamed. It was like he hacked into my dream and wanted to talk to me without me being able to reply. 
"I bet you think this is just a dream, it isn't. I just wanted to let you know what's going to happen in your future." He snarled. His voice was as cold and hard, even as piercing as nails on a chalkboard. "You will betray your friends." I would never! They are like my family to me! "I bet you don't believe it, but you will. You'll work for me, whether you like it or not. You will kill that kid, Calvin. Calvin Valley. Then the girl. You are evil. Face it, they never liked you. They always talked about you behind you back." There was something in his voice that made me believe it. They had talked about me behind my back, hadn't they? No, they would never... "Yes, they would Daniel. They wanted someone to laugh at. Kill them, kill them!" He shrieked. 
I woke up. I hated them. I hated them all. Just the thought of them made my blood boil. They'd never even liked me. Not once. They only befriended me to make fun of the things I did. They would die. They would all die. Every single one of them, the heroes included. Then their families. And everyone who was ever friends with them. I would kill them with my own hands.

((Woah, dude... What's up with that?!)) When Cheesy was taken to his room, I felt really bad. It was my fault that he almost died. My fault. Mine. His mom would kill me if she ever found out. Oh no!! Our parents!! We had forgotten our parents! Ah, man! Now I felt even worse! I felt so bad that I teleported away. I teleported to my room in my house. I grabbed my art stuff off my desk and teleported to my safe place. I started drawing, and drew and drew, until I fell asleep. In my dreams, I felt even worse than before. I saw mass destruction everywhere, and in the center of it all were the four of us. Cheesy looked like he was ready to kill the rest of us. It was awful. I couldn't believe it. Finally, I woke up. I looked down at my pad of paper and saw the scene from my dream, with some of my tears on it, blurring the colors together. Looking at it, I was astonished at the accuracy, but at the same time, I was sad that I even drew it at all. I didn't even care that I drew it while asleep, I just didn't like the way it made me feel.
((Wow... I think I may have accidentally given Calvin a fourth power... Okay, how about we each get five powers... Or just four... But I like all four of Calvin's, so I'm not taking them away, ok?))

     I was able to tear of the suit, literally, and get into some new, dry clothes. I hated Calvin most, so he would be the first to die. I walked out the door, trying to look like I wasn't ticked, but I couldn't help it. Calvin Suddenly appeared by my door. He looked devastated. It should have made me happy to see him like that, but it didn't. It hurt. 
     "Hey, Calvin, can you come here for a second?" I asked him. I didn't wait for a reply, I knew he would come. Come to his death. I opened the door to my room and Calvin entered behind me. "Shut the door." He did as I told him to. He was about to open his mouth to speak when I struck out at him. I punched him in the face just hard enough to make him fall to the ground stunned. Then I was on top of him, suffocating him my my own hands. He made some weird noises that didn't seem human. They made me feel a bit guilty...
      Suddenly, right as Calvin was about to go unconscious, the door opened. I looked up from my work. It was Hawkeye. He took in what I was doing immediately. He kicked my square in the chest really hard and I felt some ribs break. He kicked me right off Calvin and to the other side of the room. The last thing I saw was Hawkeye's shoe coming closer to my face.
((Dun dun duuuuuuuun. Things are getting good!))

"Stawp!" I yelled, gasping for breath. Hawkeye may have just saved my life, but I was still holding out hope that Cheesy would change. If he kept on this path, my dream could actually come true. And that would be a nightmare come true. Hawkeye looked at me then shrugged and took his for off Cheesy's face. "Now put him in a holding cell, ok?" I told him, still catching my breath.

I woke up in some sort of cell. I wasn't bound or anything, so I stood up slowly. What had happened? I took in where I was. 3 of the four walls were black, probably metal, and the fourth was glass. But it wasn't clear, for me at least. I could see my reflection in it. I had no doubt that it was bulletproof glass and that others could see me from the other side. I felt a wave of nausea. It felt like the walls were closing in. Suddenly I remembered what I'd done. I'd attacked my best friend. I ran my hand through my hair. I could have killed him! I was shaking now. There seemed to be a voice in the back of my head, trying to turn me away from my friends. It said things like, 'Get them back' and 'Kill them!'. The voice was as cold as ice. It made my brain hurt. It felt like my head was going to explode. I screamed in anger that I'd attacked my friend, pain from the beating Hawkeye had given me, which I completely deserved, and the intensity of the voice. It felt like I was going crazy. I took my anger out on one of the walls. I kicked it, punched it too. By the time I was done I'd broken a few knuckles. And my ankle was hurting again too. I sat down and put my head in my hands. It was time to face it. I was evil.

I watched Cheesy in sadness. I felt bad for having to put him in there, but it was probably for the best. I had forgotten about my picture in all the chaos, but out of bordom I stuck my hand into my back pocket and found a piece of paper folded up. Confused, I pulled it out and unfolded it. Looking at it, the feelings of sadness and despair came over me again. Why? Why did I draw this?

I looked back up at the glass. Somehow I could now see through it. Calvin was standing on the other side looking just as upset as I felt. I wondered if they could hear me from over there.
     "Calivn!" I screamed, hoping he would be able to hear it.

I looked up from the picture and looked at Cheesy. He had yelled my name. He was looking right at me. What was going on?! I pressed a button on the console and spoke into the microphone. "Yes?" I asked, unsure what to say.

"Dude, I am so sorry!" I was almost sobbing. "I- I don't know what happened, I had this weird dream, this guy in it turned me away from you guys!" I didn't want to go into more detail. "I'm evil." I whispered under my breath. It made my chest hurt to think about that. I'd always tried to be good, like one of the heroes, but it turns out I'm not. I'm just a villain. I'd never be able to be like them anyway. I just wanted to either be kept in the cell forever or let go where I couldn't hurt my friends.

"Dude, it wasn't your fault. I forgive you." I said, tearing up. "Ah, man! I'm going to cry all over again!" I said, laughing.

"You cried before?" I asked. I shook my head, that didn't really matter right now. "Just, like, leave me in here, I don't want to hurt you again, or the others." I didn't tell him that I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I hurt someone else. I stretched my hand and winced at the pain that came with it. I guess I had a new power too. Being able to see through walls. Pretty cool, but I wouldn't need it since I'd never leave that cell.

"Yeah, when we almost died. Cheesy, I couldn't leave you in there. I don't care if you almost killed me. I just couldn't do that to my friend."

"Dude, I don't want to be let out, free to hurt someone else. I wouldn't be able to live with myself." I honestly just wanted to be left here alone. Everyone would be safer without me in there lives. Suddenly I was exhausted, my eyelids began to droop. My head rested against the wall. My eyelids closed but I was still awake, but just barely.

I started panicking. "Cheesy? Cheesy, stay awake, please! Cheesy, listen to my voice. You are not evil, you are not hated, you are my friend. Please, stay awake!" I said desperately.

"Why do you want me awake so bad?" I said sleepily. My words were slurred together with my sleepiness. I was just about overcome with the urge to fall asleep.

"Because... Because... I don't know, I just do. Just-just promise me you won't hate me when you wake up, ok?"

"I can try, but if that dude comes back there are no promises." I mumbled. Right after I said it I was asleep.
     At first it was just blackness everywhere, completely dreamless. But slowly the man came back.
     "What do you want?" I snarled at him. He'd been the one to turn me away from my friends. It was his fault.
     "Still trying to be a hero I see." His cold, raspy voice came from beneath his helmet. "You are evil, face it, get used to it. It's all you are, all you've ever been, and all you'll ever be."
     "Liar! I'm not evil!" I could feel my body even though I was dreaming. It felt like I was flickering in and out of existence. 
     "You'll kill you friends. And you won't wake up until you agree to do what I want you to do."
     "You can't tell me what to do! I wake up when I want to!" It felt like my mind was being ripped in half...
     I suddenly snapped awake and jumped to my feet. Pain flared up in my broken ribs and I grunted. I looked around. Through the glass I could see that Calvin was still there.

"You ok?!" I asked. He had been jerking around like he was having a nightmare.

"Uh, yeah." I managed. "Hey, good news, I wasn't turned against you this time!" I said, trying to make things a bit happier. "So... What's up?" I said trying to break the awkward silence. My mind wrapped around what had happened in my dream. Some guy basically hacked into my mind and placed thoughts there... Woah...
