Dragon Born (February's RP)

"What was that?" I asked, looking around. I pulled out the small pocket knife I brought with me, just in case.

Dannial: "I agree..."

"Alex, come here. There's a woman here who doesn't look too good."

((I just realized something. I don't think any of them brought flashlights... ))

I nodded and rushed over.

((It's light in the caves))

Sage: "How long do you think it'll take to get to the other wall?"

((My character is still in the camp?))

(( but with Dannial and sage, they're literally in a hole in the ground ))

Dannial: "I dunno. Wanna see?" I asked with a grin. 

In front of us was a beautiful woman in a sea green scale like dress who looked like hell froze over. Her breathing was rapid and sweat wet her brow. As I went to kneel down next to her to check on her, I was hit rather forcefully with a wave of heat that finally made me start sweating and panting. "Alex, you check on her," I instructed as I backed up some, suddenly feeling very lightheaded.

(( unless she silently tagged along with one of the groups))

I nodded and pulled out a water bottle from my bag. I gave it to Hills before I bent down to check on the woman.

"Thanks," I muttered as I sat down next to a particularly large stone. The dizziness and sweating had died down some, but it was still affecting me as I slowly sipped on the water.

((Maybe Sage brought a flashlight))
Sage: "Of course!"

I had no idea what I was supposed to be checking for.

Dannial: "Race you!" I called as I took off running.

Sensing Alex's confusion, I said, "Just make sure she's going to be alright."

I nodded. I checked the woman's pulse and temperature. Both were very bad. "She's dying," I muttered.

Sage: I pulled a flashlight out of my bag and turned it on before taking off through the cave.

My heart felt like it skipped a beat when Alex said the woman was dying. Ignoring the heat and dizziness, I scooted over to her and put my hand on her shoulder. When my hand made contact, her eyes fluttered open and she looked at me. "My lady... Please, watch over my young ones with your mate. I may be dying, but I'll be able to go on without fear if you are the one watching over them," she said as she looked me straight in the eyes with dull green eyes. 

Dannial: I was laughing my head off as I ran across the sloping cave floor at almost full tilt, not paying attention to where I was going, which caused me to trip over something large.

I saw Dannial trip and stopped, then looked at what he had tripped over with the flashlight.

I was saddened by this. I didn't know how to react. I had never see this woman before in my life, but yet, she spoke as if though she had known Hillary and I for years.

Dannial: "Owww..." I said as I sat up and held my bleeding nose. I'd probably broken it. 

Shock. Confusion. Worry. That's what was going through my head as the woman pleaded to me with her eyes. I knew she was in pain, and the only thing that could comfort her was my saying Alex and I would do as she asked. But of course, if I agreed, then we'd be stuck with the burden of fulfilling her dying wish. Looking at Alex for a second, I turned back to the woman and said, "It'd be an honor."

I started nodding in agreement.

"Maybe next time use a flashlight."

"Thank you, my lady, my lord. Now I may rest in peace," she sighed in relief. She closed her eyes tiredly and, with a smile on her face, breathed her last breath. I leaned back as the heat and dizziness died down quite rapidly.

Dannial: "Yeah, maybe. What did I trip on?"

"I can't tell."

"Hillywood?" I looked at her concernly.

Dannial: "Dude, you're the one with the flashlight."

I shook my head. "I'm fine. What do you think she meant by mate?"

Sage: "Yeah, a crappy flashlight, it looks like something's tail."

I shrugged. "What about all the other stuff?"
