New Year, New February RP?

I woke up when the sun came up. I climbed out of the small fort. "You can sleep now, I'll keep watch."

I nodded slightly and walked to my sleeping area, then laid down and fell asleep quickly.

I watched her fort for a second before grabbing my lance. I started packing up, making sure we have full water bottles and finding other things to store clean water in, since I wasn't sure if we'd find another clean source. I made sure our food was in a secure storage unit and started to take down my fort as quietly as I could and tying the wood up into bundles.

I woke up a little while later and stretched out.

"Perfect, you're up." I finished up, making sure that all we had was packed up and easily mobile, although, we'd have to carry multiple things at once, but since It was all tied in multiple bundles, it was like wearing multiple backpacks.

I nodded slightly, “How can I help?”

"Help me disassemble your fort so I can tie them in bundles, then we'll be on our way."

I nodded and helped him take my fort apart.

I smiled at her a bit once we finished and used the last of the rope to tie it all up. "Awesome." I shouldered a backpack and grabbed a couple bundles of supplies, leaving one hand open for my lance. There were two bundles for her. "Ready to go?"

I nodded and grabbed my two bundles, “Ready.”

I nodded and walked over to the cord. It was still there. I dropped my stuff and tied the end to my lance. I picked my stuff up and started walking, the cord revealing itself better as it moved with my lance, so we had a trail.

I kept up with him the best I could.

I walked slow enough that she would be able to keep up. "So, uh... about last night... was it weird that I kissed you so soon?"

I shrugged a little, "Different relationships move at different speeds, I've never actually been in one before, so I have no clue... I liked it though."

I nodded. "I did too, I was just afraid of making you uncomfortable or something." I looked down at the wire. It still had not been cut or anything, which was a good sign.

I smiled slightly and kissed his cheek, "You didn't."

((I almost want her to get separated, like someone grabs her and separates them while he's asleep cause I get the feeling that wouldn't happen while he was awake.))

((I like that idea. Maybe that's one of the packages offered to the viewers and they vote on who to kidnap. My idea was that Cephas gets attacked by a mountain lion which leaves him bleeding from the chest, so she had to take care of him because he can't move with his bandages.))

I smiled and kissed her for a second, winking before looking back down at the wire. "I wonder how far this thing goes."

((I like that one too! should it be before or after she gets kidnapped? I was also thinking maybe they find a letter or something and the end of the wire that's vaguely taunting, like maybe it says, 'Keep her close' or something cause they're planning on kidnapping her and yeah...))

"I honestly couldn't give you any kind of estimate."

I nodded and continued walking, wrapping it around my lance to move it while unwrapping the other part at the same time, looking ahead.

I looked around a bit trying to figure out why we were here.

Eventually, I realized the wire had been coming towards us, signifying that it was at its end. On the end was an envelope. I dropped my lance and grabbed the letter, opening it to read it, but there were only three words on the paper. "Keep her close," I read aloud, looking at Mackenzie.

"What does that mean?"

"I don't know, but I don't like it." I picked my lance on. "Come on, we're still walking west, which is where we need to go for a coast." I continued walking, leading the way. Hopefully, we'd find another body of water, otherwise, we weren't going to last long.

I nodded slightly and walked with him, I knew we were going to need more water eventually so I kept an eye out for a water source.

I listened to the nature. The sounds of birds calling, the rustle of bushes as animals ran through them. Then, I heard a particular sound, far in the distance. It sounded like... I changed course to head at a 45 degree angle than what we were traveling at, pushing past large shrubs and thick trees until I found it.
"A waterfall," I whispered, looking up at it before looking back at Mackenzie.
