Tumblr Academy reimagined

I pressed several buttons on the machine, nothing happening. I tried everything I could think of to make the thing fulfill its only purpose, coming up with nothing. I threw my hands into the air in annoyance. "I hate this infuriating technology!" I shouted, resisting the urge to throw it across the room. Eventually I roughly shook it. "Why are you withholding my coffee from me?"

Aiden: I looked up when I heard Nic shouting. "What the-?" I quickly made my way to the kitchen in time to see him shaking the coffee maker. It was cute and cringe-worthy at the same time. The man could not work a simple coffee maker, and this wasn't even a sophisticated model, from what I could see. I looked down at my nanobot bracelet. What idiot did I fall hard for?
Before I contemplated for too long, I walked over to him. "Struggling?" I asked.

I jumped slightly, surprised by his voice. I'd heard the footsteps, but I' expected Alistair. I hadn't been aware that Aiden was even up yet. Immediately I released my stranglehold on the machine and stepped away from it. "I am," I admitted. "In my defense, where I come from if we want anything hot we have to start a fire. Or use hot coals. Granted those come from fire..." I trailed off, crossing my arms across my chest.

I laughed a bit. "Would you like me to make you some coffee? It's a simple and necessary machine in my household. Though, I have to admit, the model they have here, it's rather... primitive to me."

I finished my food and went back to the kitchen to make Aiden and Artemis some since Artemis had just come in as well.

"That'd be nice," I agreed, though I silently thought about him calling this technology primitive. He would not survive my world. Olivia walked in then and I coughed awkwardly as I turned from Aiden. "Do you enjoy making food, Olivia?" I asked. "You spend an awful lot of time in the kitchen. I'm sure everyone could make themselves food." I paused again. "Except me, probably. Since I'm used to.. primitive technology." I glanced at Aiden, a smirk tugging at my lips.

I smiled to my side at his words before I quickly pressed a couple buttons on the coffee maker. Now I just replaced the filter, putting it in the sink before I put in a new one and put the ground mixture in. I closed the lid, pressed a button and it started going. It would take another couple of seconds for the coffee to start pouring once it finished brewing.

I watched the steps he took to make to coffeemaker work. "Okay, how was I supposed to figure that out with no instructions?'

“Yeah I do like making food, it’s a nice distraction, plus I feel like I’m being helpful. Aiden scrambled or fried and do you want cheese on your eggs?”

"You read the buttons. This one literally says 'brew.' Scrambled, with cheese, if you don't mind. Thank you." Suddenly, coffee started pouring from the filter, the scent of it wafting towards me. I gave a relieving sigh and walked over to find myself a mug.

"But you changed things out inside the stupid machine before hitting anything, which obviously needed to be done," I insisted. I turned back to Olivia. "If you guys ever get to my home I'll show you our style of cooking. I'm biased, but food from home beats everything I've gotten outside of it."

I nodded and made his food after asking Artemis what kind of eggs Artemis wanted, “I’ll look forward to that.”

I smiled at her while I let Aiden get himself get a cup of coffee before taking the pot with me back to the table and my cup.

I handed Aiden his plate when it was ready.

I took a sip of the new coffee that Aiden had made. "Wow, this tastes like my failure," I muttered sarcastically, hiding a smirk behind my cup.

I chuckled a bit and thanked Olivia for my plate. I took a long gulp of much needed coffee before digging into my food.
Kira: I walked into the library and set a pile of books down. "Geez, you guys sleep a lot. A hunter, like myself, gets about 2 hours average each night, so I am already making progress!"

I looked at Kira as I raised the cup towards my mouth. "I didn't sleep," I replied causally. "And this is my third cup of coffee, which is currently the only thing keeping me going." I glanced at the books she plopped down. "What kind of progress?"

“I tend to sleep when I can cause it’s rare so, scrambled or fried and do you want cheese in your eggs?”

"Well," I pulled out some newpapers that I was studying in the archives. "I'm trying to find out if there have been any armagedeon, end-of-the-world signs lately." I showed him what I had circled in a red pen. I opened my book that had and showed them that as well. I looked at Olivia. "Extra cheese, please!"

I nodded and made her food, “You know you should probably look for things that correlate with our stories, I doubt it’s going to be something from your universe. In mine it was something we weren’t equipped to handle and I’d be willing to bet it’ll be the same case here.

I nodded as Olivia spoke, but cut back in, curious about what Kira said. "What are signs of the end of the world, anyway? What qualifies and the kind of thing you've been looking for?"

"Oh, there's a lot I've taken on that I wasn't equipped to handle." I looked off to the distance, remembering Amara, Lucifer... a lot of things. "But I will broaden my search beyond the usual supernatural stuff."
I turned to Nic. "Oh, things like demonic activity, like dying cows. The sun going out. Spontaneous plagues, biblical bullcrap like that."

"Oh, so the fun stuff," I muttered, my mind already somewhere else. Man, she just had to mention dying cows. I was not in the mood for wolf attack flashbacks, but it was too late now. I tensed up as moments replayed in my head.

Aiden: I stared at Nic. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked before gently placing my hand on his arm, trying to ground him back to reality since it looked like was in The Twilight Zone.

I handed Kira her plate, then remembered that I had Nic’s weapons and ran to my room to get them.
