((Pretend that they were helping fight off something somewhere else and call it good.))

I drove fast. "So, can you tell me about any weak points these suckers have? Like, where I should hit first? Go for the eyes? Strike the nose? Anything like that?"

I winced. "I should have explained that before. Sorry," I told him. "If you can manage to get them in the eyes then good for you, but they have long, hard claws that they can use to deflect blades, and they have a tar-like substance that matts their fur and protects them from weapons." I turned to look at him, despite how he needed to watch the road. "Will told me they're highly flammable, so that's why I prepared the arrows earlier to be ready."

((Okay, I know we had a huge debate on this, but does Aiden have his fire powers?))

I smiled a bit. "Lucky for you, fire is my specialty. Why do you think I carry all those matches with me?"

((I thought the answer was "no, unless they're there for a long time and train at it"?))
"Olivia's powers weren't working here earlier, do yours?" I asked, recoiling slightly in surprise.

((Okay, just checking!))

"No, but I have a lot of matches and have a PhD in biophysics, analytical chemistry and mechanical engineering. I think I'm good. Plus, I got an indestructable suit..."

I wasn't quite sure what the things he listed off meant but they sounded important and cool so I figured his list of achievements would have been a big deal to anyone but me. "An indestructible suit is definitely a bonus," I agreed.

I smiled, but it slowly slid off as we got closer to the heart of town. Overturned cars, buildings that were crumbling or completely destroyed. Not a living soul in site. I made my suit cover my head as I slowed to a stop, the wreckage too much to drive through. I slowly got out. "Holy crap," I muttered, looking around for any body, survivors or otherwise.

I gritted my teeth as I took in the level of destruction. "This world was not prepared for Morgarath's attack," I choked, stepping out of the car and tightly holding my bow in my left hand. I saw the first signs of life off in the far left. I could make out the shape of Wargals attacking someone. A civilian. "Where are the horses when you need them?" I hissed. If I had a horse I could surprise and scare the Wargals into leaving the person alone. But just with arrows and fire I'd never be able to realistically hold them off while trying to save them.

I quickly assessed the situation. "I'll get them to a safe distance, you hold them off," before he could reply, I was already taking off, running fast.

I sighed a little. He didn't even let me get into a better position. The highest viewpoint I could get to was on top of the car. I could definitely still shoot accurately from there. I softly stepped onto the roof of the car. I felt like the owner of the car would be furious. I quickly lit a match and set an arrow on fire, shooting it into the furry mass of Wargals. I watched as several caught fire and panicked, the others hurrying away from them and out of reach of the flames.

I quickly covered the civilian with my body as the fire roared. "Get out of this city, run, go!" I called, guiding them away from the flames. "And tell everyone else to run too!" I called after them.

I hurried over to Aiden as the civilian ran away mortified. Wargals were starting to turn and lumber our way. Soon they would actually be hurrying towards us. According to Will they are fast, so I was not looking forward to that. "Morgarath always covers himself behind his armies," I told him. "We're going to have to get through the Wargals to get to him, which is why we needed horses!"

I pulled out my guns. "Can they hypothetically be pierced by a small projectile traveling at 2,500 feet per seconds?" I asked, clicking the safety off.

"Um, maybe? But do you have enough bullets to take out an army?"
((Why don't you just have Kira have a dramatic entrance with a bunch of horses, like "What's up? I totally didn't steal these...))

((I am, but I want them to be having some fighting and a moment of utter desperation from the both of them.))

"No, but this will certainly help." I held out both guns in front of me, duel wield style, just like Aunt Nat. I rolled my neck. "You ready?"

((Like, a real, Thor descending upon the rainbow bridge while lightning is shooting out and the Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin is playing, dramatic. It would never be like that, but that's what I want.))

"It's not like we have any more time," I replied, noticing the way the Wargals suddenly charged at us. I lit another arrow on fire quickly, shooting straight into the thickest part of the army. And then the army of Wargals was upon us.

I started shooting. I was very accurate, always going for right between the eyes so I didn't have to spend more bullets than necessary. I noticed I was slowly being backed up so I was back to back against Nic. I started shooting a bit more frantically since they were getting closer and therefore, easier to shoot fatally. "How are you holding up?" I called.

We were closed in on before I could respond. I'm close quarters my bow was easily ripped from my hands and I flashed back to Olivia's world. This was almost where I died in her world, but I wasn't letting that happen. I punched one in the face as I grabbed my knife in my other hand. A clawed paw swiped at my chest. I ducked out of the way swiftly, jabbing at it's eye. It roared at me fiercely. "Merlin's beard, I should not have done that," I cursed.

I ran out of bullets and muttered my own string of curses that I learned from my dad before throwing the guns at an upcoming bear thing, nailing it in the head twice. I just bared my fists and started punching, ducking and dodging until I probably was going to beat it unconscious. I wanted to light it on fire, but with them being this close, I didn't want Nic to catch on fire. I was stuck in my chest, sent to my back, the wind knocked out of me. It crawled on top of me, and I braced myself for a royal mauling before I felt the ground start shaking.
I realized that there was a sound, and it was getting louder, it sounded like thunder, but the skies were pretty clear.

I took the moment of shock for the Wargals to kick the one hard enough that it fell off of Aiden. I quickly helped him to his feet as I listened to the thundering of hooves. I cheered loudly as it grew. Panic swept through the Wargals, who stumbled over each other to flee. A couple horses ran by first. I quickly stepped in front of one, calming it softly. "Thank god for your timing, Kira," I told her as she rode into view. I patted it's nose gently and looked at Aiden. "Do you know how to ride?"

Aiden: "No, not really." He was so gentle with the animal, more comfortable than I had seen him with any human.

I watched Kira ride recklessly and vowed that if she got to my world to never let her near Bronze. I forwned slightly at Aiden. It would have been better if he did know how to ride. We'd have more options for how to attack that way. "I would teach you, but we don't really have time for that right now," I replied, easily swinging into the saddle in one smooth motion. I offered him my hand to help him up onto the horse behind me. "Here's a tip: stay relaxed. Then you won't be jostled around too much and get very sore. Also, you're going to want to hold on to me tight. I'm going to try to back this a quick ride."

Liv: I looked up when Artemis tracked us down and listened as he explained what the others were doing, then I’m pretty sure he said something about idiots twice, “Hey Alistair do you remember how to beat those things from the book by any chance? There are tons of weapons here.”
