I looked away from the cube and at Kira now. "Nic was correct. We cannot strategize more until we know just what we're facing, which mean we'll have to wait until him and Maddie finish scouting tomorrow. It's inefficient to try and plan for unknowns. That would leave too many options." I paused. "I would suggest just relaxing until we leave tomorrow. Reserve energy and that kind of thing."

"Sounds good to me, Motown." I looked around. "So, what do you guys do to relax around here?"

I nodded and took the cube back from Aiden.

"There's a tavern if you want food and live music. If you're more outdoorsy then you could always take a walk through the woods," Maddie replied quickly. "We could also head through the market and get food that way and maybe find something to entertain you guys. There's a lake if you like swimming. Or you could head back to the inn and read or something."
She sounded like an unprofessional tour guide to me. It was almost a little robotic the way she knew that all off the top of her head.

"Reading sounds like the best option..."

"Reading sounds good. You can introduce me to some of your favorite books." I smiled lightly at her.

Maddie scoffed quietly. "You picked the most boring option, but fine. I'll have to make sure you guys get the real introduction to Aralean next time." She smiled anyway. "Back to the inn, it is." She turned on her heel and led the way.

"Oh, does her royal highness wanna throw hands with someone who kills professionally?" I asked, walking with her, smirking.

"Well lets see out of all the options I hate the outdoors, you're food is wei-" I started before Liv stuck her hand over my mouth and shook her head, I sighed softly, but stopped talking.

Maddie barely glanced at Kira, seemingly unimpressed. "Sure," she responded.
I raised an eyebrow at Artemis. Sure he was out of his element here, just like the rest of us, but he didn't need to be so rude about everything all the time. I honestly wished he would just relax for a while and try experiencing things without assuming the worst of everything.

I smiled, looking for a good spot to do this. "Weapons or good ol' fashion fists?"

((I promise I'm writing Artemis canonically just so you guys know. He complained about water in the books one time))

Liv moved her hand and I watched Kira try to find a good place to fight.

"Fists. I would hate to hurt you too badly," Maddie told her.
"You literally just promised Nic that you wouldn't let these guys get intro trouble and you're already going to fistfight with one of them? That doesn't seem like you're really following through on what you told him," I insisted.

((He sounds like my twin.))

"Ah, we're not going to hurt each other too badly. Where shall we do this, princess?"

((Wah it deleted my post! Now I gotta retype it. BTW Maddie is a canon RA character so don't plan any ships with her.))
"It doesn't matter to me," she assured her. She seemed confident. "And since I outrank you I'm going to tell you once not to call me 'princess'. I do have a name to be addressed by."

((I know, I know. There's nothing wrong with a 15-minute crush, tho. Besides, Kira is kinda a flirt when she isn't so angelic.))

"Yeah, alright. As you wish, your majesty." I looked around. The area around us was pretty clear. Clear enough for a fist fight. "How about right here?"

((I've noticed))
Maddie glared at the usage of 'your majesty' for her. "Kira, I would recommend that you don't address her as that either. She did explicitly state that she would prefer to be called by her name. And also she has the authority to have you thrown in prison," I warned her. Maddie looked like she was no longer goin to fight nice with Kira.
"I like him," she said. "He has common sense." She shrugged at the area, still obviously not caring where it happen and confident she knew the terrain well enough.

"Oh please, I've been arrested before. I can pick nearly any lock," I dropped my weapons at the edge of the area. I cracked my knuckles. I was sure she was gonna kick my butt, but this was still way more entertaining, and I wanted to see how long I could hold out.

"I feel like that says a lot about you," I replied.
Maddie took off her weapon's belt and tossed it to the side. She balled her hands into fists and bounces lightly on the heels of her feet. "You can call the start."

I held my fists up, not bouncing on my feet, but staying firm in my place, but that did give me a hint about her fighting style. I had one second to think about it before I called start.

Maddie did the best move for her, which was wait and see what Kira would do. She had never seen her fight so she didn't know exactly what style she would use, and by waiting it gave her the ability to study any attacks that Kira made at the same time as blocking them and predicting new attacks.
((Woo, last week of waking up early for summer band! I'm gonna sleep now, so 'night.))

I kept one fist forward in front of me defensively, but the other near my chin, ready to strike. I slowly made my way across the area to her, thinking about how to best strike.

((Good night!))

Maddie rolled her eyes slightly. "Come on, you're the one who wanted to fight me, so throw a punch already," she muttered, always completely focused on being able to fight back and block any attacks that might come while she was talking.

The second she finished talking, I struck down with my foot, aiming to the side of her leg.
