I turned my head and placed a long kiss on her forehead.

I smiled and relaxed.

I gently stood up and carved another notch into the tree before walking back to her.

I leaned back a bit and watched him.

"Day 49," I said before sitting back down, resuming my position next to her.

I nodded slightly, “Yay...”

I kissed her head again.

I relaxed a bit.

I took a deep breath and adjusted a little, kissing her head again.

“You ok?”

I shrugged. "I don't know. I don't think I have been since we've been here."

“That makes sense, you just seem extra down today.”

I shrugged. "I'm just tired and I miss my dads."

I nodded slightly, “We’ll be moving soon.”

I nodded and kissed her head again. "Being close to you... it's the only good thing right now."

“That was really cheesy, but also very cute.”

I chuckled a bit and pulled her into a hug, resting my head onto her shoulder.

I hugged him back being careful not to aggravate his wounds.

I closed my eyes and tried not cry. I was more scared than I let on.

I rubbed his back gently, “It’s going to be ok.”

I nodded and whimpered a bit, a few tears betraying me. "I'm trained for survival, but... the reality of it is different," I whispered. "It's real. Tomorrow will be the 50th day out here. We don't even know where we are. It's not a game, I'm used to it being a game. But we got hurt and no one is going to help us."

I nodded slightly and kept rubbing his back, “We’ll figure it out.”

"I don't want to die out here."

“You won’t.”

I gently pulled away so I could see her face. I took a deep breath.
