FEBRUARY'S Fun Prompt!

"Thank you!!" I hugged him tightly I haven't seen or talked to my family in years and I missed them a lot.

I hugged her back, kissing the top of her head. Her small, delicate body seemed right in my arms, and it was nice to have someone to protect; someone to give my light a purpose. "I love you."

I grinned those three words will make anyone happy, "I love you too."

I smiled and buried my nose in her hair. I was a bit short of words, so I said what I was thinking. "I hope we can be together. I mean, when debriefing is over. I'll find out some way to get to you, but I don't want to leave you ever."

I smiled a bit and nodded, "Me too, things will work out though, I'm sure."

"Yeah."

I smiled again and tried to stifle a yawn, "how late is it?"

I closed my eyes for a second. "It's definitely late enough to get in bed."

"Ok. Sounds good."

"Alright. Hold on." I scooped her up in my arms, floating towards the edge and hovering down justa bit over it. There was a small circular object attatched to the side of the pillar, and I pressed my thumb into it. It flashed green and a small disc of light appeared. I floated through it and we appeared in my quarters. "The portal's one way; you can only go from the pillar to my quarters and not vice versa." I set her down lightly on her feet.

"Oh cool, it seems like it would be useful to have it go both ways though."

"Yeah... I did it intentionally. I like travelling all the way up there, and I don't use the portal to get back down half the time."

"Oh ok, makes sense."

"Yeah. Hope so. Oh, I just realized... well, we'll figure it out, I guess."

"Realized what?"

"Well... you know what, never mind. Umm, do you mind if I, ah, remove my shirt?" I'd been worried about this for a bit. I knew she'd see me without my shirt on eventually; I couldn't sleep with it on. She'd already seen the scars on my arms and legs, but I'd been covering them up as much as I could. Now she'd see almost all of my scars to their full extent, and I didn't want her to get freaked out or anything. She didn't know anywhere near the full extent of my pain, and my scars were only a small indication.

I nodded a bit I could tell he was nervous about something too though probably scars, "Yeah it's fine, are you nervous about me seeing your scars?"

"I, ah..." I gave a small bitter chuckle. "Think about it this way; were you nervous about me touching your scar?"

"Yeah I was. Well I guess that isn't entirely true I was terrified, but it's ok to be nervous or scared I won't freak out."

"Alright." I pulled my ring off, clipping it to the chain on my neck. My suit disappeared and my loose casual clothes were revealed. I undid the buttons on the white nylon shirt, revealing my caloused, lacerated skin. There wasn't an inch of it without smooth, criscrossing scars covering it. I tossed my shirt into a bin, a bit self conscious and worrying that my once-tattered skin stretching across my muscles might alarm her.

I was mad, actually that was an understantment I wanted to go to Olympus and personally beat up all three of those 'goddesses'. "I wish I could help."

"Yeah... not unless you know anything about advanced massage therapy, but thank you."

I nodded sadly I really wanted to help, but I didn't know enough to help.

"You know enough about scars, though. No offense, of course. I can barely stand having a shirt on; it irritates my scars far too much. If I try and sleep with one on, well, I would be very sleep deprived." I talked as I walked over to a small niche containing a small seat. I sat down and small robotic arms unfolded from the wall, the rubberry tips poking and prodding my muscles and slowly taking the painful knots out.
