The Power of the Eyes

My brothers started pestering me to make cookies and I agreed reluctantly. I got out the ingredients. We didn't have enough flour. "Guys, we don't have all the stuff..." I told them.
"Go get some from the neighbors or something." They insisted. I sighed and walked over to the neighbors house. I hadn't taken off my glasses. I wasn't going to see anyone from school anyway. I knocked on the door. This was going to be so awkward.

((I might not be posting! My kindle just died and I'm on my phone!))

I heard a knock at the door. "Um, I'll be back. Hold on." I said. I went downstairs and opened the door. "Um... Hi... Alice..."

I almost screamed. "Hi." I squeaked. This was more awkward than I had thought. I remembered about my glasses and panicked. I quickly pulled them off.

"So... Uh... Why are you here? Do you need something?" I asked awkwardly.

"Y-yeah." I stuttered. "My brothers are forcing me to make cookies and we don't have enough flour. Could I, uh, have some?" I asked, my face getting redder. She was my next door neighbor? How had I never known?

"Um, sure. Come on in." I said, moving aside.

I stumbled down the stairs, finding Melissa and Alice at the door. "You two are neighbors?"

I stepped in awkwardly. I squeaked again when Lexile suddenly came down the stairs. "A-aperently." I whispered.

I smiled to Al. "Well, it's nice to see you again."

"Ya want some flour or not?" I asked.

I nodded silently. I felt disoriented like I always did after taking off my glasses. I was worried to bump into something and break it, so I reluctantly put my square, black framed glasses back on.

"Shoot I've got to go home! Sorry Tyler! Bye!" I yelled sprinting to my house my mom was going to be mad!

((She was still at the school talking to Tyler))

Al seemed a bit off-skelter. "You alright?" I asked, following them back towards Melissa's kitchen. This place was actually right next to my hideout... and over it a bit.

I got her some flour. "Here, is this enough?"

I got to my house and looked at the house across the street curiously it looked like the neighbor had people over.

"Yeah, That's good." I said then paused. "I'm fine." I whispered. I wished that I didn't need glasses, then I wouldn't be quite this freaked out.

Someone was running towards the house... they were about the same size and weight as the girl who could read minds... I closed my eyes quicly. Oh my... it was her... why was she coming towards Melissa's house in such a hurry? "That's good," I said to Al. "You should really put your glasses back on, though. It hurts yhour eyes to try and see wihtout them, and you could get hurt."

I gave her the flour. "Here you go. Feel free to come over any time if you need anything, k?" I said.

I was going to go over and say hi seeing as I had never actually met my neighbors before, but decided against it and hurried inside my house.

I squeaked and put my glasses back on. I took the flour gratefully. "Thanks."

I smiled. Al seemed very paranoid... I felt sorry for her. I didn't know what it was like to be scared. I didn't exactly feel emotions normally.
