Nothing Left to Say

“You know what back then I was rooting for Thanos. Ok? I already said I was a horrible person and I regret what I did and I don’t need you to pile on. Thank you.”

I crossed my arms. "If you don't want the consequences, then you shouldn't have committed the action."

“I didn’t expect this! Ok?! I will say that the planet was getting overcrowded and people were getting dumber and having less and less common sense! When we were creating this we decided that the world would be better after! You don’t know what was going on and you don’t know what happened after! So please just stop! I’ve already told myself everything you’re going to tell me, I’ve already had random people try to kill me!” I yelled finally losing my temper, then I quickly went upstairs to my room to calm down when I realized I had yelled.

I closed my eyes when she left and tried to slow down my breathing. My hands were shaking like crazy and I was on the verge of tears. I slowly slid down the counter and made myself as small as possible. It was her yelling. I nearly had forgotten what it was like when someone yelled at me with such anger. It was my fault, I shouldn't have pushed her, but I just felt so mad, and I never felt mad before. I covered my head with my arms and ducked my head in between my knees.

I took a few deep breaths, then walked back downstairs, “I’m sorry for yelling.”

I flinched and curled up tighter, instinctively trying to make myself smaller, but that was hard since I was 6 feet tall.

I frowned a little and crouched next to him, “Tony?”

I didn't look up, but I did open my eyes. "I don't like yelling," I muttered. "My adoptive dad would always yell."

I nodded a little, “I’m sorry.”

I slowly lowered my hands. "I-I get triggered into panic attacks when people yell at me." I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you."

“I ruined your life, I completely deserved anything you wanted to say to me. I shouldn’t have freaked out.”

I scoffed. "My life was ruined the moment that monster signed the adoption papers. You just... well, you didn't make things better, but I was bound to screw it all up anyways."

I frowned a little.

"I'm not sure if you noticed, but I'm kinda a screw up."

“At least you didn’t start an apocalypse.”

I snorted and looked up at her.

“I’ve been trying to fix it, but I’m going to need the rest of my team...”

I tilted my head. "Where are they?"

“Safe houses across the country and there’s no guarantee they’ll help.”

I nodded slightly and moved to stand up finally.

I stood up as well.

"What do we do now?"

“I’m trying to figure it a route and a supply list.”

I nodded. "If I can do anything, let me know."

I nodded slightly, “I will.”
