"Well, we're stranded in the middle of nowhere, probably miles away from any human life, surrounded by who-knows-what for what's going to be who-knows-how-long, and I have no idea if we're going to survive. So, yeah. I don't know if we're okay, relatively speaking."

"Uh, well, I don't have a lot of that," I muttered. "I'm always at school or working odd jobs on base or training. Working in the mess halls is one of my favorite things, though."

We continued walking, the silence not so silence with the sounds of the woods surrounding us. The animal calls, the rustle of leaves, the sounds of our own feet snapping twigs and crunching leaves while we trudged along. It was kinda relaxing.
