Nothing Left to Say

I looked around before looking at my lap. "So, uh... where are we going?"

“Another safe house like mine.”

I nodded and pointed to the glove compartment. "Do you mind if I root around for CDs?"

“Go for it.”

((If we wanted to be mean we could say Draven was on the team and he’s the one they’re picking up first because he’s the closest))

((I like the idea. I mean, he's not a scientist, but I feel like Natalie would have told him about the safe-houses.))

I opened the glove compartment and found a CD case. I started scrolling through that.

((And he could’ve helped in other ways too, plus maybe she still had feelings for him and is kinda like, well I’m picking everyone else up so might as well))

I glanced at my map and kept driving.

((Meh. I don't want to write a love triangle, they're stupid. Maybe she still cares about him as a person, and they're still good friends... because he doesn't know that she started the apocalypse.))

I found a CD. "Does the radio still work?"

((Not a love triangle if she only has feelings for one of the guys, she doesn’t know Tony well enough yet))

I nodded slightly.

((Okay... I'm still suspicious, but okay.))

I nodded and popped it in. "I didn't beg you for a pop fan," I muttered.

((I feel like they would still be really good friends even if they aren't dating anymore))

I shrugged a little and kept driving.

((Cool cool cool cool.))

I hit play and idly listened to the music, looking out the window.

I pulled up to the first safe house and parked.

"Uh, do you want me to come with?"

"No, I want you ready to drive away if it becomes necessary." I hopped out of the truck and walked up to the front door.

I nodded a bit to myself and slid into the driver's side. This was weird. I was self taught with driving and trucks were not included in that...

I used a specific knocking pattern to let him know I was an ally and hoped he would open the door.

I watched her and the door, occasionally glancing around. I had no idea what we were doing.

Alright desperate measures luckily I can’t yell loud enough to draw zombies from too far away, “Draven! Open up! It’s Natalie!”

I watched as the door finally swung open, and the most emo/goth looking man I had ever seen was standing in the doorway. He was tall, his hair and clothes was dark, and he had several piercings. I watched as he quickly scooped Natalie into a hug, practically lifting her up, which left me me with more questions.

I hugged him back tightly, "I have a plan to fix this mess."

Draven: "I don't care, I'm just happy you're alive," I whispered. "I tried to find you..."

I nodded slightly, "I was at the safe house in Pennsylvania." ((Pretty sure that was the state that I decided on before...))

((It was.))

I set her down, then I noticed the guy in the car. "Uh... is that your...?"

"No, I barely know him, but he knows who I am and didn't kill me and agreed to come along to get everyone."

I nodded and just kinda... took a breath. I thought she was dead and being with her was surreal. "So you need me to come with you guys?"
