Nothing Left to Say

"Sorry I haven't talked to very many people lately, I think I kinda lost my filter..."

"You're seriously talking to me about a filter, Nat? You have nothing to worry about."

I nodded slightly, “Right, sorry.”

I smiled, nearly laughing. "You're fine."

I smiled a bit back, “It’s nice having someone around who understands me.”

"I'll always be around when you want me, Nat." I wasn't sure if that was cheesy or not, but I meant it. Besides, I liked giving her the chance to make fun of me, she needed the laugh.

I laughed a little, “That was so cheesy, thank you for not hating me.”

"Hey, you used to love it when I got cheesy on you."

“I do like it when you get cheesy, that doesn’t make it not cheesy.”

I laughed a bit and refocused on the road, more comfortable now. It was like the past couple years hadn't happened at all, just for this moment.

I leaned back a bit, I hadn’t actually slept much last night, or any night, for the past couple years.

I glanced at her. "You can sleep, you know. You can trust me to fall asleep now."

((Have you ever seen those cars where the center consol/glove box thing in the front seat basically folds up into an extra seat? So it turns the front seat into a bench seat kinda?))

((Yeah, my grandparents old truck can do that. It's kinda a hazard and that old truck is a death trap.))

((I love that truck, but I felt for sure I was going to die in it.))

I nodded hesitantly, “It isn’t really a trust issue...”

I nodded a bit before pulling to a stop. I slowly turned the car off and made sure the doors were locked before I pushed the center console up.
"Do you remember how I used to help?" I dropped my voice to a whisper, gently moving my hands to grab hers. "When you used to wake up in the middle of the night?"

I nodded slightly and glanced back to make sure Tony was still asleep before moving closer to Draven.

I gently wrapped my arms around her before pulling her down with me, making sure that she was comfortable. "Is this okay?" I whispered.

I nodded a little and tried to fall asleep.

I kept her close and slowly rubbed small circles on her back, trying to keep her comfortable.

I slowly relaxed and fell asleep.

I kissed her head and kept rubbing.

I tensed up because of nightmares a few times, but I actually slept for longer than 4 hours so that was a good thing.
