The Power of the Eyes

I yelled for him to stop again before I looked at the seed. Before I knew it, roots were spurting out of it. One shot towards Mr. Hyde and wrapped around his neck. It lifted him up off the floor slightly before a few more roots shot towards the guards in the room and knocked the guns out of their hands before thickening and pinning them against the wall.
I hated this. I had less control over my powers when I was aggrivated or in pain or anything like that. It was more like my powers were controlling me instead.

A guard cut the vine and I turned the power off.

I closed my eyes and turned my head away. "Just leave me alone," I murmured softly.

"Can't do that."

I opened my eyes and took control of the roots again. I made them thicken and slam into him and the guards.

One guard got out and put the headband on her.

My breathing turned frantic as the pain in my eyes stopped. The vines stopped growing and just hung where it was. I tried my hardest to control them again, but to no avail. "Please, just leave me alone! I don't want to be treated like a freak! I'm not a freak!"

"You're all freaks, but we want to learn how to create more of you."

I shook my head and turned away from him. "I'm not a freak!" I insisted. "Please, just leave me alone!" I shouted louder this time.

"I don't think so."

"What could you possibly want now?!"

"To study you."

"How?!" I tried breaking free again.

"Well naturally the most painful way possible."

I growled. "Just get it over with and leave me alone!"

"We'll see."

I turned my head away from this awful man and closed my eyes. The least I could do is refuse to look at him.

I smirked a bit.

I started to calm myself down. You were stronger than this, Emma!

I changed the settings in the room.

I didn't watch him. I refused to open my eyes.

I set another seed on the table.

Don't look, don't open your eyes...

The guards got rid of the vines.

I held my breath and froze with anticipation.
