I quickly walked after to him. "Hey, I know a calming method. It calms down a giant monster back into a man with 7 PhD's in my world... mostly. Do you want me to try it?"

“It’s a training thing Nic! Just like if it were an archery thing I would step out of your way in an instant because I know my limitations!“ I knew he probably couldn’t hear me anymore, but I needed to say it. It wasn’t about not believing in him or any of them, it was just a risk I didn’t feel comfortable taking, I would prefer to be the one who got hurt instead of them. They were my friends and I couldn’t let them get hurt. Especially if I could prevent it somehow.

I glared back at Olivia before shaking my head a little at Aiden. "I don't think I'm a monster that needs to turn human, whatever you're talking about with that, so no I was trying to relax with the horse but obviously Olivia kind of..." I trailed off. I took a deep breath. "He wouldn't have accepted if anyone else asked him, so it has to be me. I just wish she would understand that without doubting me or getting mad at me."

((Is it a bad idea to apply for Barns & Noble for a third time under a new email, now armed with new info that might help me actually get an interview?))

Alistair: I gently placed my hand on her shoulder. "He has made his bed, now he must lay in it. You can't possibly clean up everyone's messes, you have to let your friends see through to their commitments, even if they seem like a mistake."
Aiden: I sighed and rubbed his shoulder before slipping my hand into his. "I don't know. Maybe she's just seen too many losses to not feel like she has to do everything in her power to prevent them. I don't think it's you, per say, but rather everyone she's seen die and doesn't want to see it again."

"I literally died!" I yelled, throwing my free hand into the air. "Kira could just bring me back again if everything goes horribly against my plan, but it's not going to. I get that she has been through things, but don't take it out on me because of it. It's too late for me to back out now, so just support me instead of stressing me out." I sighed a little.

“If he gets hurt I’m going to feel like it’s on me. Even if it isn’t that’s how I’m going to feel.”
((So I may or may not be watching Arrow and I may or may not be channeling a bit of Oliver Queen into Olivia at the moment, also I don’t know about the Barnes and noble thing Jaydinn))

Aiden: I sighed. "You humans are so complicated," I muttered. "I'm sure she'll be there to support you when the time comes."
Alistair: I gently moved my hand to slowly link fingers with her before bringing her hand up to my lips, kissing for a second. "I know. He's like a little brother to me. I'll feel terrible if he gets hurt, but I know that he's too stubborn for me to do anything. Plus he probably needs our support now more than ever."

I nodded slightly, “you’re probably going to have to stop me from interfering if it starts to go bad.”

((Dude you gotta give businesses time. Plus submitting too frequently is just gonna bother whatever manager that does hiring, so wait a while before you try again.))
"You're human, too," I responded, but nodded and rested my head on his arm a little.

((Too frequent is bad, better than my I don’t know answer?))

((I looked and it says I'm "no longer under consideration." So... yeah. And I don't have a lot of time left. I'm still applying to multiple jobs, I guess I'll just not with B&N.))

Alistair: I smiled a bit. "You can count on me to do that."
Aiden: I looked out to the distance. "Sometimes I wish I wasn't. Emotions and feelings suck. I can't take hot showers, it hurts my skin. It feels... tight sometimes."

I squeezed his hand. "I know what you mean," I replied. "About the feelings thing. I wonder how much better things could be without... feeling. But then we'd miss out on the good feelings, and it wouldn't be worth it."

I nodded slightly and heard Artemis muttering something about wishing he had been able to analyze morgarath’s fighting style to help Nic come up with a plan.

((Did you ever hear back from Zupas? If it's being slow then it could be because my manager in charge of the hiring just got surgery and has ben out for a while because of it))

((I'll think about it. My dad did suggest Mrs. Fields jokingly because we were at the mall today. I drove there! And no word from Zupas, so that means I wasn't hired. They told me they'd call me back by the next day if they wanted to interview me in person, but if not, they "decided to go into another direction" and that was about a week ago, so...))

Aiden: I looked down at him. "Yeah, good feelings," I muttered.
Alistair: I kissed her head and looked around at all the destruction. "I wonder what the civilians are going to do."

((The mrs fields manager loves me, I’m actually sort of trained there))

“Hopefully they’re ok and will be able to rebuild, but I doubt their insurance covers this.”

((Ah, don't feel bad about it. It's a high stress and low pay job and honestly like 2 people there like me very much at this point, so I'll probably quit soon. Also they treat new employees so much better than old ones? Ive been there for a year and I still make minimum wage and all the new people get a dollar more than me? And it's so trash. All my good co-workers but 2 f them quit))
I raised an eyebrow at him. "You say that like you don't know good feelings," I replied, studying him carefully. "Just holding your hand is a good feeling to me. Do you not feel the same?" I asked. "You've gone on and on about your family back home, all of the people like relatives to you. Are they not good memories? Did being around them not make you happy?"

((Cool, I'll look at jobs then. I just want a source of income, you know? So I can save it and partially blow it on some stuff, like records, if my grandpa gives me his record player. But in actuality, I'd probably save up some money for Christmas and birthday gifts for you guys because you might be getting tired of getting cards that are easily destroyable.))

Alistair: I nodded a bit and sighed. "I have a bad feeling about... well, nearly everything."
Aiden: I laughed a bit. "That's how it came across? No, I was thinking about you, because this is a good feeling."

I smiled a little, glad to have misinterpreted his tone. I glanced back at Olivia, Alistair, and Artemis. "Should we go back now that I've calmed down a little?"

Aiden: "Do you want to go back?"

“That’s why I’m stressing out about this. It could go wrong easily. I know that Nic has training and can hold his own in a fight, but I’m worried. With Aiden’s armor or not this could go bad.”

Alistair: I nodded a bit. "You just have to have hope, Olivia. That's a common saying where I'm from. Have hope, because the good guys always win. We will get our happy ending."

I shrugged slightly. "I'll have to eventually. They're right by the horse, which I need for the duel. Besides, if she can stop herself from yelling at me again then it wouldn't be bad to try and relax among friends."
