((Guess what!! The U just gave me a second scholarship!!! So I have 3500 in scholarships for my first year which isn't a ton because college is expensive, but it's hard to get scholarships from the U!!))

((Thanks!! plus if I'm living at home I don't have to pay the most expensive fee, so the loans and workstudy program they're offering, and the scholarships will cover my first year, I still have to take out loans, but oh well))

((Good luck with that, chica. Trust me, loans are murder, and U of U is one of more expensive colleges to attend in this state.))

((I know loans are bad, but I'm going into biomedical engineering... I can't go anywhere else, plus I almost have my associates already and yeah...))

((I'm always seeping. I thought I was gonna wake up before noon but apparently I'm still exhausted. And I work today from 5-10. But it's the only day this week I work. And I work once next week. So I'm gonna quit really soon because they give me. No freaking hours. For 7.50 and hour. And there's no point anymore. I dog sat for a week and made over $300. And I work for 2 weeks and let like $60. Anyway, congrats on the scholarship, Kennedy! I know how you feel about needing to go to one college for your future career. Utah State has the only vet program in the state, so unless I go out of state (real possibility) then I have to go to Utah State))

I glanced over when I saw Olivia and Artemis head over to us.
"Oh, Maddie, meet two more of my friends, Artemis and Olivia," I told her. "Guys, this is apprentice ranger Madelyn. She's also the princess, but she 'doesn't use that title anymore'."
Maddie rolled her eyes at me and shook their hands.

((I don't know, I need somewhere with a criminal justice field, and I know Utah State has one, but there's a real chance U of U does too. But Utah State is actually one of the cheaper colleges of Utah. I want to become a criminologist, and I would at the very least, have to get a masters, but it sometimes requires a PhD, so I could go on and be a doctor.))

Alistair: I ducked my head out of my room and looked down the hall, trying to see what all the commotion was about. When I saw it was Nic, I emerged fully from my room. "Ah, is this one of your friends?" I asked him, walking over.

((I need to get a doctorate so I really and shooting for a full-ride in order to pay for school and not be in debt for years of my life because that's not fun. College is expensive, and vet school is even more so. And for vet school I HAVE to go out of state. There is no in-state vet school. So after 4 years of college wherever I go, then it's me moving across the country somewhere for 4 more years with completely new everything and I'm excited about it tbh))

"Alistair, meet Madelyn. She's my fellow apprentice ranger, but she's also the princess," I told him quickly.
"Do you really have to keep doing that?" she asked me.
"Look, I'm just trying to get the introductions out of the way quickly, and I'm not leaving out relevant information like you being the princess," I insisted, but she was already ignoring me and shaking Alistair's hand. "Where's Kira?" I asked, looking around. She was the only one of my friends left to introduce that had stayed in the hotel. Matt would still be waiting at the cabin.

"She's in her room doing Lord knows what. Would you like me to go get her?"

"Might as well. Then we could all get Matt and get things done finally," I replied, stifling a yawn. I would definitely need to sleep early tonight.

I nodded and knocked on her door, briefly explaining what was going on before she came out and introduced herself, but not nearly in the same manner as she did when she introduced herself to Matt.

"You don't need to be so stiff around me," Maddie laughed a little.
I smiled and looked around. "We should head back to the cabin now," I told everyone.

"Sounds good, do we need to gather our stuff?" Kira asked.

I paused. It was likely that they would be returning to the inn tonight, though I wasn't quite sure where our weird quest would take us. I didn't even know who or what we were supposed to fight next anyway. But because I didn't know I figured we'd stay around the area and try to learn some more new things. Maddie planned on trailing us for a couple days, which was a bit unfortunate. We probably couldn't keep everything a secret from her, but I was okay with letting her know. She tended to be open-minded about things.
"I wouldn't. Just your weapons and you all should be good," I answered after a minute.

I nodded and back tracked to my room, quickly grabbing my sword and sliding it back into its scabbard and walking back out again.
