I woke up, feeling like I hadn't actually fallen asleep. I almost cussed, but I didn't. I just sighed and buried my nose into her hair.

When I finished, I helped her with the crate and started tying it to one end of the boat.

I started to shove the boat towards the water, which strained me a little, but I gritted my teeth and bared through it.

"Thanks," I puffed out right as we got the boat to the edge of the river. I didn't want to push it in yet, otherwise, it would take off without us.

I looked around the camp. "Day 50," I muttered, committing that to memory while making sure we weren't leaving anything important behind before turning to Mackenzie. "Get in the boat."
I started pushing the crate towards the edge of the river.

I pushed the crate a little more so it was partially in the water before I pushed the boat into the water, jumping in quickly before it took off. The pull of the river on us caused enough momentum to slide the crate into the river calmly, and it was now floating behind us.
I held my hand to Mackenzie for a high five.

I laughed a bit and looked down the river. "Hopefully, this takes us somewhere good," I muttered before going to our food. We didn't have much. Only a dozen berries and a single package of crackers that had been delivered to us last week. "Do you want anything?"

I nodded and put the food away. I looked around. Looking back, the camp was already far out of sight. The river wasn't fast or big, but it was moving at a decent pace.
I looked over at Mackenzie. "So, we have a lot of time to kill... What do you want to do?"
