The Power of the Eyes

I watched everything unfold and quietly sat down at the end of the table. It was best for me to not get involved it would only make things worse for them.

"Thanks... did I crash into you earlier, or was that someone else?" I asked the newcomer.

((Who are they talking to?))

((I assumed that Tessa was talking to my character, so... now I'm slightly confused.))

"Your name is it Tessa?" I asked the girl sitting by the window. She was getting really worried about something it was starting to hurt my head a bit.

((Man... Shy characters are hard... SOMEONE HAS TO TALK TO HER OR ELSE SHE WILL NEVER WARM UP. MAKE FRIENDS WITH AL))

((I can't even come up with a power that hasn't been taken... -_-'))

((I am just gonna assume that no one is talking to my character until they mention hair and eye color, because I cannot keep everyone straight right now))

"I'm Melanie. Why are you so worried?"

"I'm Emma, by the way. I think I know you, we're in... Science together?" I looked at the girl with the blue bag for confirmation.

"Yeah we are."

((Hmm, naw, that's not really like her to control emotions and stuff... I'd wanted to do something with nature, but Jaydinn already has that... ))

((I'd thought that maybe she could control the seasons but no one gave me permission))

"It wasn't your emotions that told me you were worried." Wait why did I say that! "Uh sorry that probably sounds weird. And no I don't really know her." I looked at the girl and concentrated a little, "I do know she goes by Al."

I looked over at a group of girls and some I had recognized from earlier. I was sitting with all the cool guys at the lunch table. "Hey guys I will be right back..." "Okay dude but make sure you come back quick cause this dude knows some cool tricks with his Kendama!" One dude said. I walked over to the girls and didn't notice the Auburn haired girl standing in front of me. "Hey, uuhhh what's going on...." I said as I saw her look at me she looked frustrated and sad. "Hey, yo what's goin on?" I asked her

((Who has auburn hair?))

((I will be switching back and forth from this to painting for the next hour and then I have to get ready for Suessical and then I might not be back until at least nine thirty... But I will try in between...))

((I have, and this time I really do have, percussion lessons. I think at five. Or five thirty.))

"Yeah." I said quietly. "I'm just really shy. I'm fine." My hair fell in front of my eyes and I didn't bother brushing it back.

AI sat atop the school, not eating anything. I didn't need to... my cells were made up of chemically and electrically forced molecules, meaning I didn't need nutrients to make nutrients. I didn't need to eat. Why the scientists had done this I didn't know; it was impossible to harm me, or get inside of me in any way, if I didn't want it. I closed my eyes, taking in a breath. A breeze ruffled my hair and I exhaled. ((I forgot to say earlier; Lexile can control the wind and air around him.)) I smiled. I opened my eyes and hopped off the roof, landing on my feet as if I hadn't just fallen twenty-five feet. I walked through the doors and down to the cafeteria. I saw a bunch of people milling around... they parted like the red sea before me as I strode forward. I waved to a few, turning forward agian. I found a table that looked satisfactory and sat down. I turned and saw the girl I'd met earlier.

I nodded. I'd like to be around people who were nice. I grabbed my stuff and followed Tessa. I laced my fingers nervously and bit my lip.

A couple of girls came to the table where I sat. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'll find somewhere else." I slowly got up and turned, scoping out a new location.

"It's fine you can sit here there's plenty of space," I said quietly.

((I have orange ink all over my hand because I got bored and drew on myself.))

I turned at the voice. It was a small... well, everyone was small... it was a girl who seemed startled by something, and was very withdrawn. "Thank you, very much." This girl seemed friendly enough... the kind of person I would usually associate with.
