The Power of the Eyes

((Lol))

I didn't say a word to anyone. I didn't really even look their way. It was as if I was terrified to look into other's eyes, like if I did something terrible would happen, like a curse, or worse.

((Sorry! I'm eating dinner!))

I saw another girl, avoiding eye contact. I sat down beside her. She wasn't autistic... "Hello."

((You eat dinner early, Jaydinn.))

"What do you mean 'crisis adverted'?" I asked Tessa making sure no one else could hear but her.

((I always eat dinner around this time.))

I looked around, there were now a couple guys here, one of them was... him! I don't know why, but I was suddenly nervous.

((Who is him?))

"Hi..." I squeaked. I felt like I was going to have a meltdown for many reasons. One was because people were talking to me nicely after so long, and the other was because also people were talking to me. I don't talk to many people. I was too shy. I never spoke up in class, never made many friends, never did public speaking. That was actually my greatest fear. The only person I confide in is myself.

I tilted my head to see her better. "What's your name?"

((Wow, everyone is chill, while... Jaydinn's... person... name... name what is the name?!?!? just barley got nervous, and Al is just freaking out silently.))

((Emma. Think about OUAT.))

"Alice." I said quietly. I could tell he was looking at me. Probably judging my hair color. I didn't say anything about it though. "I go by Al."

"Al... I know another Al... he's male, though." I glanced over her. She wasn't terribly attractive, although her hair was a very nice... "I don't know many people with that color of hair."

"I've heard it all before... It looks like the color of rust, and no I didn't dye it...!" I cried. I hadn't spoken that loud in a while.

"It doesn't look like rust."

I smiled. "Rust? Hardly. I'd say it's more like a rare ember... it's a pleasant tone."
((I've got to go. I may be back on... goodbye!))

That surprised me. Everyone always said it was the color of rust and talked about how ugly it was. I stayed quiet for a moment. "Thanks." I whispered. "That's a first for someone to say that to me."
((I have to go. Percussion lessons. I need to practice before I leave. I'll be back around 5:45, unless I eat dinner, then it'll be around 6))

I looked out the window and saw my reflection my eyes were silver now... Well that explains a lot!

"You didn't say Crisis adverted outloud did you," I said still whispering.

"Sorry, just pretend I didn't say anything," I said quickly. How long had my eyes been silver? Hopefully long enough that no one realizes that silver isn't their normal color...

I looked at the others. "What are you talking about?" I asked.

"It's nothing."
